You have got to be kidding me.

So is he going to be Peyton Manning? Tom Brady? Aaron Rodgers? Or Drew Brees?

Schaub is maxed out potentially and will be either 31 or 32 next season. I'll take Yates.

Leaning more towards Brady has his ceiling, with better speed. Serious. The kid has skills. He does move around in the pocket like Brees though.

i understand everyone is excited but people really need to come down on the yates hype.

And this is coming from someone who actually has been high on him and thought he had a lot of potential when he was drafted (and liked the pick)

The only way there will be a QB controversy is if Yates takes us to the Superbowl and we win. Other than that, he will likely back up Schaub next year and Leinart will be 3rd string or cut.

Schaub's contract is up after next year.

It's not unthinkable that TJ battlefights his way into the driver's seat.

Especially if there are any lingering health concerns about Schaub.

Kubiak: We are in the superbowl and Schaub has recovered and can come back and play!!!

TJ Yates: Schaub would be back and i would be back on the bench????

TJ YATES: Yea, but then that happened

I'd vote that maybe we should just be really, really excited that Yates is turning out to be an outstanding backup with serious potential.

    Leinart is gone.

Tate and Foster have become the best tag team backfield in the NFL.

Barwin and Thor are top notch edge LBs with Mario approaching free agency.

This is like football's version of First World Problems.

That about sums it up; no controversy, I agree Leinart is the casualty here and really too bad. Schaub is still the starter, but TJ MAY be the future. Still a lot of football to play.

There def isn't a QB controversy, Leinart is the odd man out for sure though. Shaub is a very good QB, but let's be honest Shaub chokes under pressure and is by far one of the slowest Qbs out there, nice to have a change of pace in TJ.

Leinart has millions of dollars to be a backup... I don't pitty him in the slightest. If they thought he was the true future I don't think they would have drafted Yates to begin with.

There is no QB controversy unless Yates takes us to the Superbowl. Cross that bridge if we come to it...

Yates got some love on PTI today (16:20 mark on the podcast). They compared his 4th quarter comebacks to Tim Tebow.

No controversy and the reason for the Texans success is their depth. If it's possible everyone needs to be brought back. Mario, Foster, and Schaub.

Just keep drafting for depth and enjoy the success.

Cheapest backfield in the league, and only 6 starters are older than 29(not counting FA adds from injury). Feels damn good man.
