Clippers would have a hole at SG when/if David Sterns demands the Clippers hand over half their team for Chris Paul(see particularly: Gordon, Eric). On that same note, when/if the Clippers agree to that, they wont have anything worthwhile to trade for Martin. Not amnestied. False rumor last night.
Scola is one of the best contracts in the NBA, and 12 Mil for Martin is a great deal for a team with a solid guy in the paint.

This isn't any surprise. This has been a rough off-season/training camp. Hopefully we can get something done. I'm just happy we have an extremely active front office who are doing the best they can. As much as I wish we could snag a Gasol, I believe everything happens for a reason and this may be a blessing in disguise. If no trade happens, at least we have a lot of young guys with potential who are ready to fight. Remember the heart we showed last year? I think this team as is has a few stars in the making.
nope, that is false. The league wanted youth and as much as they could steal from the rockets. That's why they asked for Lowry. They are two of the most productive players at their respective positions and saying otherwise is ****ing ridiculous. Like what was mentioned above, a solid big man protecting the rim and works ****ing wonders on a defense. The perfect example is what happened to the Rockets when they lost Yao and deke. Who can they even afford now? If they can't get anything done, I think fesenko would be worth a cheap deal. Seems solid on d, and made around $1 mil last year.
Yea everyone hating on Scola and Martins contracts are right I'm wrong. There's a good handful of 18-8 PF under 10 mil And every 20+ pt player that's not on a rookie contract makes no more than 12 mil. .. Yea they aren't superstars but superstars make quite a bit more than this.
I think this falls back on Morey. Betting the house Pau Gasol and having no other fall back was a mistake. Was this our plan for four years?
