This team should just sign some random 6'10 guy off of FA or undrafted players then play and lose 60 games and get the best pick they can. It would be huge to consider both the draft class and next year's FA. A top 3 pick would make Houston a destination for free agents again.
Sounds like what we're doing right now, lol. The problem is that with teams like New Orleans, Cleveland, Sacramento, etc, they're tanking even harder than we are. This roster even playing at its worst will get no better than a 10-14 pick, or it will lose that pick by making the playoffs. Sucks to be stuck between David Stern and a hard place, no?
Interesting thing about the possiblity of Gasol signing the $4.5 mil QO is that it's basically a big FU to the Grizz, sending the message that "I hate it here so much that I'm willing to give up $50+ million in guaranteed money and take the risk of a bad injury this season in order to leave." If it does come to that-- or if his agent even publicly threatens or hints at it-- it's almost certain to have a big negative impact on the Grizzlies team.
Marc is being underrated by some. As previously mentioned, Randolph took away from his "numbers" , but Marc is going to be a perennial All-Star eventually IMO. He's been on a nice curve and nothing has changed. It will be interesting to say the least how Memphis responds.....
Marc is only 2 years older than Thabeet, but lightyears ahead in every aspect of the game. And Marc isn't even in his prime yet.
One of the concerns is he has the tendency to get too much curve, especially around the abdominal and gluteal areas.
I wouldn't give it completely 100% but you would have to assume they would have no other choice than to get something for him right?
