You do realize that Bosh, Lebron, CP3, etc. all resigned with their original teams back when they were still under rookie contracts, right?
[rQUOTEr]CHICAGO -- Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose has agreed to a five-year contract extension, a source told ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard on Tuesday. The contract is worth $94.8 million, a source told ESPN's Ric Bucher. Rose, 23, was the youngest MVP in NBA history last season when he averaged 25 points and 7.7 assists and led the Bulls to the top spot in the Eastern Conference with a 62-20 record. Rose wasn't worried about signing the deal at the team's media day on Dec. 11. "If it was up to me, yes, I would sign quick," Rose said. "But I know I'm not worried about that right now. I know that when the time comes, I know that I'll sign." ... Rose will be making 30 percent of the Bulls' salary cap, thanks to a new rule in the collective bargaining agreement dubbed the "Derrick Rose Rule." The rule allows a player finishing his rookie contract to make 30 percent of a team's salary cap -- up from 25 percent -- if he's twice been voted an All-Star starter, twice been voted All-NBA or won an MVP award.[/rQUOTEr]
