Couldn't New Orleans later on acquire Youth and Picks after acquiring Scola, et.al.

This is what I cannot understand. The official reason given by Stern for nixing the trade was that NO wanted more youth and picks. Is it not possible that with the acquisition of Scola, Martin , Odom these players being very marketable and with very high trade value can LATER ON be traded for younger players or picks before the trade deadline and therefore Stern's excuse is quite lame. Now New Orleans is negotiating with the clippers for younger players and picks. With Martin , Scola and Odom they could have easily acquired the assets they desired by trading these same players to the Clippers or any other team interested in transacting for them. It is apparent that David Stern was negotiating as team owner in BAD FAITH and was merely acting as agent of Cuban, et. al.

Lets move on bro. We can't do anything now. When its all said and done, no one will be remembering what happened to us and how much it damaged our plans. Everyone will just remember it as the time CP3 was almost a Laker.

Believe it or not, no non contending team is willing to give up a 1st round pick in a talented draft class for a PF that doesn't play defense. Same applies with Martin and Odom. Are contenders willing to give up a pick? I'm sure they are, but NOLA isn't looking for an 18th or 22nd pick when they are trying to rebuild.

Let's worry about what we can control, this deal would have been close to lopsided as it was, maybe we will get a special year after this was denied, a year long apology from the commissionar !

    :)

I guess we don't have a choice bro. Just wanted to point out the "basketball reasons" given by Stern weren't exactly that reasonable. It feels like our team was just violated.

I think that is debatable since some teams prefer a proven commodity because even in a "strong" draft you get players with potential but who may not pan out but with veterans you know what your getting.

I think stern has lost all credibility at this point. I hope the Basketball Gods rectify the injustice by giving us a good break like Thabeet or Patterson having a breakout year. :)
