Is it just me or are the Texans not getting the proper attaention from the league? I haven't seen too much about the Texans anywhere.
its not you. Hannah Storm tries to squeeze stuff in on ESPN since she is a fan, but with a Tebow win and a Cowboy loss don't expect anyone to talk about us this week.
Maybe you don't remember this... This is the SI cover that ran the week the Rockets won the 1994 NBA finals (note the MASSIVE banner, just above the words "Going Fishing with Ted Williams" ) When the word "Houston" is in the headline, the media goes deaf, dumb and blind. If you're waiting for attention and respect, as Mal Reynolds would say, "That's a long wait for a train don't come."
They will only be an elite team if they can string together a few years of good defense, offense, special teams, and memorable playoff wins. I am one of the biggest Texans fans in the city of Houston, but I do not think they will make it to the Super Bowl this year. All I say to you fans is just to enjoy the ride, you are in the play-offs now. Next year, we will get a Sunday Night Football appearance for the first time, and hopefully it will be a Texans victory. Who knows? They may be a Super Bowl favorite next year.
Our talent level is elite, if that's what the OP means. We're not an established "elite team" in the minds of the media, although who knows if we'll ever be. That said, Houston has a better shot at being treated as a large market, glamor city in the NFL than in any other sport.
