Do you think signing Marc Gasol to 4-years, $55M is a good deal for the Rockets?

No doubt, but I would hope Morey realizes that Gasol is not going to sign an offer sheet when he already has a bigger offer on the table, that would be stupid of him.

The only way we could get him is if he told the Grizz he wants to leave, and even then they could simply say...no.

    We are screwed here.

Dude, you are averaging over 40 posts per day. Maybe you should consider taking a vacation. Give it a rest.

I dont want either Gasol.. But if I had to chose it
ll be the llama... I think Marc is overated big time... He plays for a team where he is pretty much the 3rd option...Here, we would expect 20/10..aint gonna happen folks

I think it all depends on what Grizzlies management are thinking ... If they're thinking they're good enough to win a championship THIS season with Rudy back, they might not want to take a chance at interrupting team chemistry with an unhappy core player.

You have their owner saying Gay isn't on the block, but in fact the "cornerstone of their franchise" and another big in Randolph who commands production and is getting all the attention ... In Gasols country, he's the Zach Randolph of the league, lol Seriously, every player can't handle that.

The Rockets offer exactly what both Gasol brothers feel like Marc needs ... "A better opportunity"

It's funny, I wonder if Morey has slept at all the past week.

The moment the Lakers pulled out, he goes to work again.

He's easily the most active GM right now. There's no doubt in my mind that if we don't land Gasol he'll immediately try to work up another deal.

On one hand it seems like desperation, on the other I'd just say he's one hard working fellow.

I get this is a hail-mary play by Morey but he never does things just to do them, hoping beyond hope. He must know something or made enough contact with Memphis where he thinks a S&T can be worked out.

    No problem Ascaptjack,

I feel your pain, but honestly there is nothing any of us can do but to watch, review details of what is going on and what has happened in similar circumstances in the past and hope for the best.

Just don't get caught up in the long shots and you will feel better, this team went something like 22-7 after the Battier trade, so if they could do that all year, they might surprise some folks.

Lower your expectations for the squad and enjoy the ride.

Signed Chris Bosh, Nene Hilario, and every other potentially quality Free Agent/restricted free agent we want.

I give Morey A+ for effort, lord knows there is nothing wrong with trying, but they are all still long long shots...and highly unlikely.

I agree he has been extremely busy...but the lakers GM has also been busy. From trying to get Paul to looking for a separate trade to get picks to going for Howard to trading odom to mavs, etc

Don't me wrong, i'd rebuild via draft BUT he had Gasol wrapped up until Stern changed the rules on him. Morey had Chandler last offseason until Toronto wanted to save money instead. All indication, Nene was going to sign here until the "basketball reasons" showed up.

All that wasn't his fault, completely horrible luck...I don't think Morey would simple just hope Memphis doesn't match.
