Seriously? You are wrong. Incorrect. False.

If you like TJ better, fine. He's starting to convince me too. But give credit where credit is due. Schaub has led us on multiple game winning drives. It's just a cold hard fact...

I agree with everything you said, however would have we been down at all with Schaub? I don't know. I do know that Schaub probably would have not have been able to pull that final drive off.

We are in good hands with either QB because of our coaching staff and their supporting players. I'm happy either way.

What TJ did today was indeed legendary,..they will be making youtube music ballards as if TJ was the Edmund Fitzgerald (but in a happy way) and talking about the miracle drive 10 years from now. .. .

    WHOA THERE MOTHER****ER!

This is Pro Bowl Schaub we're taking about here. Yes, I love what TJ has done, but Schaub is still the better QB.

There will be no real QB controversy until next year. And unless TJ plays great and takes us deep into the playoffs, I expect Kubiak to stick with Schaub.
But, it is nice to have a QB that can run faster than a mummy.

    no hes not..

i dont know what you schaub apologist are holding on to.. a pro bowl appearance where he was a replacement.. a ton of yards that lead to nothing..

look with your own eyes.. yates is everything schaub isnt... stronger arm, better vision, better pocket presence, anti-b***h.. seems like the only thing schaub has over yates is years..

we all know what the outcome would be with #8 in that same situation...

WTF are you arguing about? Schaub is months away from even being ready to play. They both may be playing for their jobs in August, but right now TJ Yates is playing for a first round bye in the playoffs.

So in 2 games Yates has shown he's better? I agree to disagree.

At the end of the day, we're all in the bullpen.

    GO TEXANS!!!

No he hasn't, but the Schaub haters think everybody is better than him.

Yates has shown a lot of promise that he could develop into the Texans future starter however.

    There's no controversy.

    1. As high as we are on TJ right now, we've got to realize that this is still the honeymoon period and he's being helped tremendously by the run game and defense. If the D doesn't get us the ball back with 2:30 left, Yates becomes the goat with two turnovers and only ~240 yards passing at barely 50%.

    2. The only way there's a controversy is if Yates continues to wow and Schaub comes back bothered by a lame foot. Kubiak's not quick with the switch.

I'm saying all this, and I've ordered my #13 jersey (don't have one for #8)

I think this is exactly the point. Had Yates not been able to pull it out today I highly doubt they'd be asking for Schaub's head on a stick. Yates played a hell of a game, but he made at least 5 big mistakes from what I saw... there is room for improvement, so he is most definitely a work in progress.

August is a different story. Right now, I have no doubt that Kubiak would say each of them had to "earn it."

Exactly. Without the game winning drive, there would be a lot of deserved criticism on how Yates played today... the bizzaro INT, the inability to get rid of the ball when the pocket collapsed, and being very innacurate early... but since its the honeymoon period, these wouldn't be harped upon as much right now.

He did pull the game out, though, and Kubiak is geuninely excited about how much this guy is capable of as he will continue to improve.

The ONLY way I see a controversy is if they win the Super Bowl... otherwise, this is still Schaub's team for another year or so.

Agree 100%. Yates has shown me enough. He is legit. All he needs is more experience. He has much better talent than Schaub (for the reasons you listed). He's tougher in the pocket also, and more mobile. That draw play would not have happened with Schaub. That 17-yard scramble for the first down on the last drive would not have happened with Schaub. I say, trade Schaub to move up in the draft and take a stud WR (preferably Justin Blackmon).

I know Schaub may be the answer for the next year or two, but given how TJ already looks, I would so do that....Can you imagine, Blackmon paired with Dre....

Schaub should not be worried about losing his starting job... Yates played well enough to win but he made a lot of bad passes.

Great game, great win!! Go Texans!!

It is interesting. On the surface, while not elite, Schaub is a fine QB and has been the leader of a top 5 offense for a few years now. He shouldn't lose his job to injury.

However, if T.J. shows his mettle in the playoffs and leads us to a victory or two (hey if he wins the big one, he is going to be the starter next year) against a Baltimore, NY or Pittsburgh, then there is little doubt the fans will be hollering for a change come training camp.

IMO, Yates eventually is going to go through a period where he struggles. I can't think of a rookie QB who didn't. I think opinions of him will temper once that occurs.

Best case, if Yates is relatively successful in the playoffs, then there is going to be an open competition in camp, even if Kubes doesn't formally announce it as one (i.e Schaub will be 1st team, but if he struggles and TJ shows success, then they make look to deal Schaub for a 2nd rounder or whatnot).
