I want Gasol, bad. But at this point for us, it just seems like we are doing whatever we can do to sign a big name guy regardless of the skill level, which isn't good. I like Gasol a lot but I don't like spending all of the money we got on him with a max deal.. these reports also shows that there is absolutely no way Les will allow this team to tank, which I have always been against but at this point, considering the upcoming draft class, I wouldn't be opposed to it.
a.) A "max" deal in the NBA isn't that much. b.) Marc Gasol is an up-and-comer -- the best is yet to come from him.
Would any of you be adverse to expanding the deal to obtain Gasol and Mike Conley's bloated contract with a package involving Lowry? That might be appealing to Memphis.
So according to this article the Grizzlies have not yet match and the Rockets are working on a SNT with the Memphis?
Bleacher Report, bud. I could get on there right now and write that the Rockets just traded Clutch the Bear for Michael Jordan.
The article said that Scola would be picked up in the trade to provide defense while Randolph scores....yeeeeaaaaaaah
Big news? From Wojo! (yes, Bleacherreport, but quoted from Yahoo and Wojo) Rockets’ GM Daryl Morey is willing to work with the Memphis Grizzlies, Gasol’s current team that holds his restricted free agent rights, on a sign-and-trade and have reportedly extended a 4-year, $55 million offer sheet to the Spanish center. Memphis has three days to match this offer or they will lose their big man. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...smart-play-to-steal-marc-gasol-from-grizzlies Gasol is blowing up!
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH HIS FACE?! ...okay, back to seriousness, I would be happy to have Marc, but for the max? As much as Stern has utterly screwed us over (and, in fact, his entire league's image), I wouldn't sign him to a max. Maybe 2/3 of that.
I could not find the ongoing NeNe thread, so here is the latest from what I know: (Again, flame me if you want, but if you've read my earlier posts, I am close friends with Ne's sister-in-law) -We are still right there with Nene. -In no order (Denver, Houston, Jersey) -He is waiting on Dwight (partially) -He is waiting on final numbers. Houston has fluctuated because of Pau ordeal...is looking to free up some more room. *****She texted me the promo pic that the Rox gave him during meetings. He's in a Rockets jersey looking frreessssh. ***** Obviously, I can't post it. More to come when I hear
David Aldridge Grizzlies owner Michael Heisley says team will match the 4-year, $55M offer sheet from Houston on Marc Gasol. Check out the Hang Time Blog.
Marc is better than Nene, and has a longer future than his big brother. I like this better. Memphis probably would want one of our young prospects though.
