Do you think signing Marc Gasol to 4-years, $55M is a good deal for the Rockets?

First a T.J Yates drive and clinch of the division and now this....

    Franchise changing move folks.

Awesome. Now someone get me up to date. Sign & Trade? Max offer Sheet?

And could this be a move to still bring Pau Gasol to the Rockets?

Marc doesn't need us for leverage. We made the offer and Memphis can just match it. It's just like Lowry last offseason.

This is a hailmary play a real long shot. I wont get excited till a report of Griz actually in talks for S&T. I think they match offer.

even if memphis matches the offer, we have nothing to lose. I would rather make the attempt and maybe get lucky. why not?

Now this is something which I would approve

wouldn't mind a max contract, he still has huge upside and another 7-8 years of quality basketball

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet:

Not only would the Rockets lose out on other options (Nene, Dalembert, etc) during the 3 days it takes Memphis to match, but it will essentially cost Les Alexander $5.13M (by amnesty waiving Thabeet) just to ATTEMPT to call Memphis's bluff (minus whatever waiver claim he gets).

Say what you will, but the Rockets at least like Thabeet enough to want him around if they can't get anyone . . . well, good.

This (combined with the fact that Gasol already has a larger offer on the table from Memphis) is why I think it's S&T or bust.

There is no point in signing Gasol to an offer sheet.

This is all one big mind ****. We almost had Pau and Stern says no. We are sad. Then Sunday rolls around, oh we sign Marc to an offer sheet, yay! Come Monday, Memphis matches.

We are back to square 1.

Well at least the Texans made it to the playoffs.

Yes we are talking Pau I thought. Are we talking about Marc? Don't confuse the subjects please. Did either of them say they hate hou? I don't think that's happened.

Just doing some quick math in my head.........you have averaged over 17 posts per day for almost 13 years:) That is a post per hour for every hour you have been awake for almost 13 years. That is down right scary. I don't know whether to give you a high five or call CPS (Clutch Protective Services). Either way it is impressive!!
