It would be a nightmare for a small market team like Memphis to have 3 max contract players + conley's $9mil per. It's easy to say they would match the offer but again this is still a business. If they do match, expect them to trade one of their max players.

memphis has shown they are willing to spend money when they are in the play offs. but I dont think they will match. Gasol doesnt want to be there and memphis has said they will match if he wants to be there..... that being said, we are probably giving them Kmart + nyk pick. The way the NOLA trade went down, Scola was indifferent but Martin was upset. That being said, he may want a trade out and it is either with Mini or Memphis. His choice would be Mini...and if that is the case, look to see us give up some of our young assets. I could imagine Cbud/ CLee being the prizes in that deal- would make sense they are giving up mayo in a seperate deal and they lost Battier so they would be short on a good sg and good SF. Then we trade kmart to mini for Williams or Darko or something along that nature. Just my guess....

Initially we couldn't afford his bad D because we didn't have a real center and Scola aaaaaand Budinger. I would much rather give away say Scola and say Thabet instead of KMart. If that trade would be accepted is another question, but rooting for KMart to be chosen is illogical. Then you can have Gasol/KMart/Patterson/Lee/Lowry Offense is great and we give up no D!
Marc Gasol is a very solid center, and I believe Randolph has depressed his stats. I'd be thrilled to bring him in. It's never hard to find good guards or forwards under 6-10. It's damn near impossible to get real centers. I like him, and have liked him far more than the likes of Hilario.
