What's funny is Pau is a lot better than Marc, yet I don't see nearly the amount of vitriol flung at Morey. It probably would've been Pau + Nene >>>>>>>>>> Marc.
Marc actually played better than Pau in the Olympic qualifiers a couple of months ago. This kid can ball. And yes, he's a natural center.
I did not look up the stats but I think there might have something to do with the Z-Bo effect. That was clearly a baseless opinion that I threw out without looking for actual facts to back up my reasoning, but I still wonder if a deeper look into the stats would back up my statement.
Tony Allen is their guy at SG though. He's a key player for them. I still think it's Scola with Zach at C.
Pau is FAR superior to Marc, but Marc is much less of a douchebag. That is the trade off... At this point, I'll take anything. Memphis needs to find a C though. They have NO ONE...
Pau/Nene screams win now, while Marc Gasol gives you a franchise center for years to come. Morey's philosophy has always been to get the team to be a contender as quick as possible, which is why Pau/Nene was option #1.
I wish we had more cap space so we could front load this offer and damn near impossible for Memphis to match
Didn't Memphis turn down an contract pre-lockout from the Grizzlies? If he signs this offer sheet I think that says he doesnt want to be there.
