I've got it... Houston gets: Pau Gasol (from Lakers) Magic get: Andrew Bynum (from Lakers) Terrence Williams (from Rockets) Jonny Flynn (from Rockets) Chase Budinger (from Rockets) 1st round pick (from Rockets AND Lakers) Lakers get: Dwight Howard (from Magic) Hasheem Thabeet (from Rockets) Lakers get Dwight and lose a lot of cap next season by giving up Pau Gasol. Magic get a good young Center, and some other young assets on cheap contracts... plus 2 first round picks Rockets get Pau Gasol and get to hang on to Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Kyle Lowry, and Patrick Patterson.
Would Cleveland be willing to part with Varejao's contract for our trade exception? Not sure if something there can be worked out.
Houston trades: Scola Houston receives: Something better than Scola Needs to happen, IMO. Regardless of how you feel about tanking, I could see Patterson being a more impactful player as soon as this year.

Lee + Patterson + Hill + Thabeet for Iggy At the end of season/draft night flip Iggy + picks for higher draft pick. Trade everyone else for the pieces needed to build around the new franchise player.
How about we work another 3 way. Something along the lines of: HOU gets: Minny unprotected 1st NOH gets: Kevin Martin + whatever else LAC gets: Chris Paul
I was sorta' thinking the same thing. The Cavs are looking to rebuild and need a decent SG to complement Irving and that other dude they drafted. Hill+Lee for Floppy Jao.
HOU get: Minny unprotected 1st from LAC NOH get: Kevin Martin, Chris Kaman, Eric Bledsoe, Al Farouq-Aminu, Future 1st from Clippers LAC get: Chris Paul, Trevor Ariza Works all around.
Paul won't sign an extension with Clippers, so they won't risk losing that valuable unprotected 1st from Minny for nothing.
All the good young teams seem to have that vet who makes them extra special. Tony Allen on the Grizzlies, Nick Collison on the Thunder. I think Varejao is that guy for the Cavs.
Flip C.Lee for Afflalo, a RFA Flip Martin for Iggy, Sixers ready to deal after re-signing Young? Flip the SF glut for a C
Three team trade: Mavs: Odom (Lakers) Lakers: Scola (Rockets) Rockets: Bag of peanuts (Mavs) Everybody wins and Rockets get scewed! Perfect trade for the NBA.
Rockets Trade: Luis Scola, Jordan Hill, Chase Budinger, 2012 Knicks Pick Suns Trade: Marcin Gortat, Josh Childress After mulling scenarios in my hea around I came up with this. The Suns were willing to trade Amare for Scola and Battier two years ago, and since his departure they haven't as near as much production from the forward spot. They get a legit forward they can put next to Nash and two devloping role players in Hill and Budinger who went to Arizona, and a pick for the future. They also ride themselves of Childress's contract, but we could actually use him in case someone goes down, or more of guys are shipped out in a trade. Gortat will be the second best center in the NBA, enough said. I know it seems like alot to give, but I think it'll be good for both teams.
(my speculation) The Rox Next Moves Pure speculation here. S&T for Nene Scola-Bud-Dragic-Thabeet for Nene. (assuming salaries match up) Deal with Minnesota Simple Swap Martin for Beasley Lowry/Flynn Lee/JT Beasley/Twill Pat/Morris Nene/Hill This team could go one of two ways... Out run the majority of the teams they play and have a legit shot at contending. Or the inexperience would lead to a bad season and we would have a Lotto pick. I understand there will be some of you that say this is a pointless thread, and you may be right. But trade suggestions rarely get noticed in regular threads... If all the comments are aimed at that in stead of the moves, just lock it up! Thanks, and I would appreciate yalls thoughts on the trade.
Gortat has a lot of value in the nba now. He's a 10 and 10 guy that has solid defense and has a relatively cheap contract for centers and for multiple years. Can't see the Suns taking that unless its a 3-team where they get another center in return.
