For the Nth time, Paul nor Dwight want to be in Houston. Don't you think Morey hasn't thought about trading straight up for them? He knows he doesn't have a shot with either Paul or Dwight, so he's always playing 3rd wheel. In this case, chasing Pau Gasol.

Rockets and Lakers teaming up again for a similar trade would also be a slap in the face to Stern.

Honestly, right now I'm less interested in getting Gasol than keeping Dwight Howard out of LA.

Does that mean you don't think that highly of Gasol (and how he'd improve our team's future) or that you care more about the Lakers not improving than you care about our team improving?

That's the most logical thing to do but our organisation is run by derps.

Gasol could make us better if other moves fall in place, but really I care about the Rockets prospects relative to the Lakers. If Dwight Howard ends up in LA, they'll become even more of a free agent magnet and will probably be a favorite every year. Is having Gasol and an overpaid Nene really worth that?

    This.

CP3 + Kobe doesn't scare me, but facilitating bringing over the best big man in the game to the West, and more importantly the Lakers, is hard to imagine.

The thought of LA reloading with Dwight makes me want to puke.

Dwight wants to go to LA. Once LA offers Bynum and Gasol, it's a done deal.

Unfortunately, I think Rockets had EVERY intention on being part of a three-team trade that would send Dwight to NJ AFTER the three-team trade that would have sent CP3 to LA.

Morey is a genius. He knows that Dwight or CP3 had no intention on resigning with the pieces we have (esp after the pieces we would have to give up).

He figured if he can't get one or both, then make sure that they don't end up in LA together.

I think that's where all those tampering rumors started.

dwight is alright but easily has problems with centers bigger than he is like bynum. CP3 overrated to me and had similar stats compared to lowry last season. Rockets should let mchale do his magic with the players he has now and lets start the season. We have the tallest player in the league and i bet he will be getting the most attention from the coaches in the upcoming days

If Dwight goes to LA why would we want the Rockets to help facilitate this. Why wouldn't we care even less about getting Pau then?

You tell me. You're sounding like a brat. lol

    Explanation:

Morey wants Pau. Bynum and Pau going to Orlando. Morey joining the deal to acquire Pau. LA doesn't need our help. They WILL get Dwight. It's more like Morey needing LA's help right now, really.

I wonder if the Rockets had an ulterior motive in getting Gasol out of LA -- making it more difficult to trade for Dwight Howard?

It's about the big picture. I wouldn't waste years with Gasol to stay mediocre under this new environment.

I think something like this (Rockets getting in on LA-ORL trade in order to get Pau) might actually happen.

My thought is that the exception that LA got from Dallas is not meant for Turk but for Jameer Nelson, making the trade to be something more like:

Pau, Bynum and trade exception for

    Howard, Turk and Jameer Nelson.

From there, the question is, would ORL want to keep Pau and try to compete in the east, or would they rather surround Howard with younger cheaper and more plentiful talent in order to rebuild the team.

However, I think the only thing Houston would have to get Pau is Lowry, since they already have Richardson at the 2 and Big Baby and others at the 4.

So, would you trade Lowry and fillers (let's say Hill, Twill, Budd) for Pau?
