If it applies for CP3, then will it apply for D Howard?

I mean Stern stopped CP3 from "dictating" on what team he wanted to go to; D Howard is pretty much doing the same thing. Would Stern block the deal? If he doesn't, NBA looked unfair. If he does, NBA still looks unfair.

Stern actually has veto power all trades.. but more so with the hornets because the nba r owners. Usually the league vetos trades due to salary or rule issues... This si the first time stern veto a trade for basketball related issues..

Stern can't veto any trade that doesn't involve the Hornets.

Sure he can. The league office has to approve all trades, thus the reason all trades are submitted to the league office prior to completion.

My understanding is the only way a trade could be vetoed in any other circumstance is if the league found out it didn't meet salary cap or other trade rules under the collective bargaining agreement. This is the first time a trade that was completely legal under the CBA has ever been blocked for "basketball reasons". Stern could not do that for any other team, and can only do it in this case because the league owns the Hornets. Of course they are likely to get stuck with nothing for CP3 now. The league really made themselves look bad here, and I think the fall out has the potential to be much worse than any PR damage caused by the lockout itself.

At this point nobody will trade for CP3 unless it's for peanuts, they are not gonna risk getting their assets upset for Stern to up the bid or straight up veto the trade.
