So basically, you're saying that Cuban complains to Stern, then gets the refs to kill the Rockets, so the Mavs go on to win a playoff series but he "gotten fined a ton".

The Rockets attempted a trade to a team that Stern supposedly has no influence over, never tried to irk Stern, probably didn't even speak to him, and got rejected in a way that sets the team back 3 years.

So I guess what you're proposing is that Morey needs to quit the Rockets, go become a multi-billionaire on Wall Street leeching regular people's money, come back to the Rockets and start making deals again!?

    I gotta feel for Morey.

I feel like just giving him a hug right now and hope things work out for him.

The man has gone through so much these last 3 weeks.

Stern and the owners sold the city of New Orleans a team that they're not demolishing and want to keep alive and well. They had season ticket drives to help save the team. They had sponsorship drives to help keep the team profitable. They wanted the city of New Orleans to know they want a competitive team there that the fans can enjoy watching.

And then when it comes to actually dole out the salary to keep their end of the bargain, they said, "Umm... no, we're just going to not spend money, you can watch a 20 win team, until we get a new owner and move it elsewhere."

Yeah that is what I am suggesting....NOT !!

I am just admiring Cuban's work and pining for him to own the Rockets.....instead of Le$ ( capitialize on insurance money ) Alexander.

I don't agree with that at all. First of all, if this is the deal he wanted to get done I don't blame him for being aggressive in trying to see it through. What, he should just give up after facing some adversity? That's what a good exec does, in your view? Secondly, there was good reason to think the NBA would back off after the extreme backlash they received Thursday night from fans and the media. Tweak the deal a little bit, and then they can let the deal go through without losing face. Many observers and people around the league thought the deal would eventually go through if the teams were persistent about it.

The man has no principles. He has absolutely no qualms about incessantly interjecting his stupid opinion about every single matter that tilts an advantage to a team other than his own, but when HIS team gets a free pass the mf'er doesn't just stay mum, but chances are he engineers it to happen.

So is it your objective in life to suck Cuban's virtual peen whenever you get the chance? Seriously, I think the whole board knows you have a hard-on for him and then some...how many times are you going to say it?

Oh, and the OP needs to go suck an egg...it'd be nice if you post an article of what you are talking about instead of thinking that everyone's life revolves around pre-preseason events...

Have you not followed Stern's career, when has he EVER relented on backlash, honestly?

I get that Morey tried his best, or at least what he thought was best, maybe just maybe this will work out for the best of the Rockets in the end.

If Stern was serious about that, he should have relayed that message to his GM before Thursday night. Again, the teams were engaged in these trade talks for months, reportedly.

That Stern turned this deal into a wild circus at the last moment doesn't make him a shrewd negotiator or tactician. It simply makes him a ****ty commissioner who owes two franchises an apology for wasting their time.

As for Mark Cuban: yes, smart man and great sports owner. Dallas is lucky to have him.

Yup, it's everyone else's fault that they're upset you're praising the person who has repeatedly screwed the Rockets over using cheap and even illegal tactics.

Mark Cuban is a cheater and a hypocrite. A clown who buys rings.

You have said some dumb **** in that garbage heap of however many tens of thousands of posts you've dumped onto this board by now, but I think you finally top it off in this thread.

The team that you supposedly cheer for is in utter shambles. Time and resources wasted. Lost Hayes for no reason whatsoever. Players involved are a mess. GM probably thinking about quitting. 3 years of building for this moment and all up in smoke.

And all you have to say for yourself is how brilliant the guys who screwed us over are? All you have to say is your hindsight report of how Morey should have seen this UNPRECEDENTED move by the league coming? Any more brilliant insight?

    Mark Cuban?

    **** Mark Cuban.

    And **** you too.

Might as well praise Karl Malone and Stockton while we are at it.

How will they possilbly be fine?

How will another 14th pick season do them any good?

Les has made it known he will not TANK this season or any other for that matter.

As contstructed, this team will not make the playoffs and guess what? Be another 9th seed.

    WTF does that accomplish?

At least with Nene/Gasol we would have made the 1st or 2nd round of the playoffs with good revenue as a result.

Climb down off the ledge for a moment.

The Rockets went something like 22-7 at the end of last season after trading Battier and Brooks, that winning % extrapolated over the entire year would have put them in the top 4 in the western conference.

Now, let's see if they can sustain that this year, play the team as it is assembled, jettison some of the redundant pieces for draft picks and let the chips fall where they may.

Heck, don't worry about a superstar, our boy CXBBY has guaranteed that Morris is one already, we got nothin to worry about......

Did you forget we lost our starting center from last year? Do you realize we have a garbage center right now. Thabeet or Jordan Hill.

I think Morey signs Dalembert, and I don't believe Thabeet is garbage.
