I understand that Morey never has a back up plan or pulls out himself efore he loses out on other free agents slowmo.

Lopez seems to be a legit scorer, but why the hell did he only average 6 rebounds a game last year in 35 mins when he is a 7 footer? That being said, he is only 23, so I'd prefer him over Gasol.

You can't blame Morey for this one. Because the deal was done and thanks to Cuban&Gilbert Morey's plan did not work out.

He had a completed deal. There was no need for a backup plan. They worked on this deal for weeks...and Stern and the rest of the jelly owners didn't allow it to happen. Screwing every team in the deal not named the Lakers ironically.

After all this I just want basketball no more trade drama. I'll take a 9 seed with the 14th pick because we're not going to win a championship in a shortened season with a new coach. Morey should buy Kmart and Scola smoked turkeys and call it a year.

You are looking at the wrong exception. What we all generally refer to as a "trade exception" is called a "non-simultaneous trade" in the CBA. The "traded player exception" that you referenced is what the CBA calls the exception that said that the salary only had to be within 25% when making a trade. That's just the normal salary matching rule for regular trades.

It's confusing because the 'traded player exception sounds similar to the term 'trade exception that is always thrown around but they are completely different.

I also told you Morey would come away empty handed in these big deals too. Numerous times. Rolled my eyes at the thought of signing Nene. I wont go on about Morey. His fan base is big enough and smart alicky enough to get me banned for talking about that worthless GM.

This is awesome! Are you kidding me? The Rockets keep that Knicks pick. Amare and Chandler are on Knicks. Those two are a sneeze away from breaking a hip.

The only reason he came up empty handed is because of Stern.

Not every team is willing to throw first round picks around in a stacked draft.
