I doubt it. I mean it's possible that Morey could have had that in mind, because we were pretty much keeping all of our youth which means we have the necessary young pieces. LA doesn't, Bynum and Gasol is the best they could offer at the moment.
Not sure, but I would take picks for him....we do need to clear some of the logjam at SG.....maybe Rubio? DD
Deal Off ... Again The CP3-to-L.A. deal has broken off -- again. This time, the Lakers ended things, and will instead send Lamar Odom to Dallas I THINK THEIR GOING AFTER DH http://espn.go.com/nba/
KevinDing KEVIN DING The logic -- which is my own, as of now -- is that trade exception paves way for Lakers to take on Turkoglu's contract from Orlando.
How many years until we are able to have a top 10 player? No elite players will come here in free agency and we won't ever be among the worst 5 teams in the league. At least we have a bunch of solid players with ok upside!
The only people who come out looking bad on this deal is the NBA. Can't imagine what is going through Les and Morey's heads right now.
awexler Adam Wexler RT @bruce_arthur: So to sum up: NBA screwed Hou, screwed NO/Paul, made a joke of governance & mayyy have helped the Lakers get Dwight Howard
Do they not get it? To land a superstar, you'll have to give up young potential, picks, and decent players either on the rise or role players. Lakers can't put a package like that together. I guess they are too spoiled from the Pau Gasol trade for Kwame Brown and unknowns at the time. Unless the Lakers have a tag-a-long partnership with the Rockets. Still not sure why the Rockets want to cash in their assets for someone like Pau.
My sentiments exactly. I still love the Rockets and will watch the games and support them no matter who is on the roster, but David Stern needs to go RIGHT NOW. The problem is, I don't know how he can be forced out? I think his salary is paid by the owners, so they would have to force him out, which it doesn't sound like they are going to do since he just caved to their demands, and I doubt he resigns. Hopefully someone will talk some sense into him and get him out before he does something even more stupid than this.
This is just a dumb statement, He is a pro who gets paid a lot of money would have adjusted to being here. Do u think players in CLE want to be there I doubt it. Plus he was leaving a annual contender for a team that is a 500 ball club.
I think what makes me most upset is that we were the team getting raped, but only the Lakers had the balls to say "Screw this" and tell Stern to go f--k himself.
How so? It can't be larger than Odom's $8.9M salary. Hedo makes over $11M. The fact that DALLAS's TPE from the Chandler deal was big enough does not mean that the Lakers get the same sized TPE. Gotta disagree with you on this one.
