I realize that this is all part of Morey's grand plan and all that's been years in the making, but if NOLA is asking for MORE, it might be time to walk away, play out the year, and try to be big players on the free agent market next year. We have apparently given them everything they want and it's still not enough. Stern and the NBA (I have long since come to the conclusion that Demps is a lame duck) won't be happy until the Rockets are gutted in a pathetic attempt to save a foundering franchise and protect one of the league's glamour teams. Enough is enough.
No kidding about the "frustration all around". Just a day ago New Orleans was happy with our original offer, and now all of a sudden they're holding out for even more? It must be nice when the entire league is basically calling the shots for your team and those shots are exceptionally shrewd and demanding.
What I presume is that Morey has a line he won't let other teams cross and he knows when enough is enough. What's the point of giving up too much to fulfill your plan when the players you give up were integral to your plan in the first place? I don't think we'll see a deal go through unless Morey feels that he can rectify the damage and/or run with it.
So are we out of it completely, or are we just getting different players..? Maybe Bynum or something?
This is the problem, Stern can just keep asking for more......to appease the owners, Morey should have been paying attention to the lockout negotiations for what he would get in dealing with New Orleans. Don't walk away from this deal....RUN FROM IT ! DD
As a supporter of the first trade now I say to just walk away. That damn devil is messing everything up
What I don't understand is why does it have to be the case that when a superstar gets traded their former team needs young players in return? What's the problem with getting kevin martin and scola when they will keep you competitive? It's not like Paul made New Orleans an elite team. With Kevin Martin, Scola and Odom they might be even better than before.
It's getting to the point where Stern is asking for too much. He is holding Paul hostage because he has the final say on any deal. Its his way or the highway and he seems to be perfectly OK with letting Paul walk in FA. Morey should just pull out and kill any chance of Paul getting traded to the Lakers. No one will ever forgive Stern, it will be awesome seeing so much hate getting thrown towards that fat old man.
I don't understand why Stern is pushing for more. New Orleans is already making out like bandits. Yes, Chris Paul is an all-star, but he's not God!!
