You must not have read since the beginning of this thread. The Lakers asked multiple teams if they wanted Pau Gasol in the Chris Paul deal and they all want Chris Paul. Morey is the one holding the pieces that will land CP3 in LA and he knows it. It's chess not checkers!!!!
Want the people to know that THE WARRIORS were THERE!! <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mCmBxPK6Ick?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mCmBxPK6Ick?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>
Well, Stern said NO has to get young talent and/or picks so there might be some substance behind the addition of Lee and Patterson. I was for the trade the first time, but if it ends up being Scola, Martin, AND Lee and Patterson (I don't really care about Dragic or the Knicks pick) all for JUST Pau...that's just wow. If THIS trade goes through, Stern raped us, if the trade gets rejected again, Stern still raped us. I hope someone walks up to Stern on the street and punches him in the face then proceeds to pee into his mouth
Some of ya'll need to get off the computer for a bit.. no reason to freak out and stress over random tweets. The trade has changed 24 times and there has been numerous wrong information out there. With that said... F5.
I remember the Lakers beatwriter tweeting that the Lakers had Marcus Morris #5 on their draft board. Just don't see what they potentially could add to sweeten the deal.
Yeah they probably asked Their rival for a favor and trade their young star point guard for Gasol. I bet they laughed until Buss hung up.
People are making the inevitable comparisons between players. Obviously Scola and Martin combined are better than Gasol. But of the three players Gasol is the best. Also, Martin is still in his prime somewhat but it's not like we're trading young all-star talent for a washed up player. In all honesty, the only move better than this is just completely tearing it down and rebuilding. But if we want to try to stay competitive, we can do it easier with Gasol than with Martin and Scola. Worst case scenario we don't make any moves after this, Gasol eventually finishes out his contract and we go into rebuild mode.
Morey doesn't have to make this trade. He is the one seeking it at the pieces he moves he is willing to part with. The orginal deal was unfair to the Hornets their rookie GM got reamed. The Rockets and Lakers were using the Hornets as a salary dumping ground.
Why would they save up for a ben gordon type of player. I'm saying in general, if Indy gets involved, maybe gasol and martin goes there and hibbert gets moved, i dunno. A team with 30+m in cap room could do wonders for this trade.
Stern wants YOUNG & CHEAP talents for NOH, thats means no Scola, no Martin, no Lamar Odom, yes Ebanks, yes Caracter, yes Lee, yes Patterson, yes more future picks
