No obviously he is not as good as Howard. Yes he is better than Amare. And yes he is a superstar if there are 11 in this league.

And since we obviously are not going to get anyone higher on the list you are suggesting we depend on dropping ping pong balls? Risk/reward there is horrendous. On top of that you cannot say for sure (even if the ping pong gods rule in your favor) that even Drummond as good as he is will be a superstar.

    Stern is playing games

If Stern keeps asking for more and more and the free good free agents sign with other teams...because they realize they may stern is playing games and they may lose out on big money....an go ahead and sign with another team...then one of the teams will back out and Stern will save face.

Do we even know that Patterson is being traded? And no, Bill Ingram does not count as a source.

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/gasolpa01.html

He was the main offensive focus in memphis and never averaged more than 20 ppg. Playing in la when he could play off kobe and really use the triangle reulted in his effeciency going up. Coming to houston and being the lead dog wont suddenly tun him inot something he's not. Again, I really like gasol on a certain type of team. Ok City would be great with him because they have 2 superstars and a couple of rising players like harden and ibaka. Gaol needs to be next to a superstar, not just a good solid player.

The Magic don't have a stop-gap rookie GM who's trying to make a name for himself at the cost his franchise's future.

This is not factual even according to your own link. His last 2 seasons in Memphis he averaged over 20 ppg.

I think if Pau comes here, he could be what (a declining) Duncan has been for the Spurs the last couple of years. I dunno, I just think a Lowry/Gasol/Nene core is really solid, and if we added another perimeter scorer (maybe Morris could be that guy, though I'm not a huge fan) we'd be a legitimate contender.

I would take 20 from him. That would be star-like numbers especially with nene taking the load off.

I'm pretty sure when he meant over 20 he was referring to 21 or more and not decimal points over 20.

If we trade half our team and draft picks for Paul Gasol and don't wind up with Nene we are going to be one of the worst teams in the league. It doesn't take an MIT degree to figure that out. What in the hell is Morey doing?

I agree minus nene. If pau is taking up 19m and nene is at 14, thats 33m and neither is a franchise guy. Again, people get confused when i criticize a trade or proposal and think I'm against the player. I think Gasol is a good basketball player. In fact, i think he's very good, but the rockets don't need good, they need great. If the rockets already had that high end young player already here, I would say ok, but they dont. As I stated in another thread, he would be great on a team like Ok city or even the bulls because they have franchise players. In houston, they dont have that and his price says he should be that guy.

The fact that Nene has yet to sign a very generous offfer by the Nets should atleast mean something for us

Especially since he has been known to play defense, unlike some other "stars" who will remain unnamed. URRPPPP Amare. URRPP Melo URRPPH Nash. THBBBBTHHH Blake.
