It may or may not occur after retirement so we won't be affected.
Risk management is key. I for one want to deal with it. We want him for his services. I don't think he needs his testicles so much to play bball.
Where does it say that the tumor spread?

Marc is too slow. Nothing special.

Marc Gasol's fatness is a concern. He might sign a big contract then balloon. We can't have that.

Absolutely that is a concern as well.

He looked like something special during the playoffs last year.

Besides, what contender actually runs-and-guns anymore? What team are we going to face where a slow, traditional halfcourt center like Gasol might get exposed?

Well, given that the Heat proved that they can't beat a simple zone defense I'm willing to take my chances with that one.

Besides, this implies we make the NBA Finals - which would be a huge plus for the city/franchise.

Marc, of course. Younger, and bigger. Nene is already at is ceiling, so what you see is exactly what you get. Marc Gasol can only get better assuming injuries don't play a factor.

If only is was as easy as picking between the two.

Where's the neither option? I'll take Marc if I have to pick one.

Gasol's + Llull = a lot of Spanish being spoken on the court.

I know a lot about cancer unfortunately. Ignore that guy, I do, he just likes to take shots....i think he is lonely and needs a hug.

You aren't very bright if you never heard of discrimination against cancer patient.

Right. You think that cancer is a huge problem for Nene because you've repeated it in literally every thread.

Except what you don't know is at least 2/3 of every cancer patient makes a full recovery and 80% of them are cancer free after 5 years.

Nene was diagnosed early on and the chance of full recovery is even higher for these patients. The fact that his case was isolated and not spread says everything.

You really know nothing about cancer, you should really learn more about it before throwing that word around. Obviously, Nene being the top FA and tons of teams pursuing him means GMs are worried about it right?

Let's not pursue or sign any FA! Because they could suffer a career ending injury anytime soon!

I refuse to read the post that is ignored, but I would guess he takes another shot and questions me personally.

What I know about cancer (unfortunately my family has far too much experience with it) is that the earlier you get it in life the more likely it is to come back.

Does that mean that it will necessarily come back to Nene, no, of course not....only that if you are going to give a large contract to someone, the risk of that happening should absolutely be considered.

It is no different than considering Yao's foot issues or Tmac's knees before deciding to give them a contract offer.

It is just good practical management.

This says you know nothing about cancer, yet you comment on it as if it was a big issue.

Next time, do a little research before you comment on a sensitive issue. 99% of testicular cancer patients survive for at least 5 years if the cancer hasn't spread.

    99%

There is a reason his cancer history hasn't been an issue for any other team pursuing him. Because the chance of injuries are hundreds times more likely than Nene getting cancer.

It'd be nice if you were a little more sensitive about topics you know nothing about.

Why do you talk about cancer in general terms when there are so many different types of cancer? And please do not compare foot/knee injuries to cancer.

I seem to remember some guy coming back from testicular cancer to win the Tour de France seven times.
