Gasol/Nene is the best we are going to get, and is the far better alternative than standing pat and doing nothing which gets you nowhere. Sure I'd rather go all in for Lebron. It ain't happening.

Is Gasol worth that entire haul? I'll play along and say no. So what? You still pay the price because that is the only way you get him. Everyone else you can replace, easily with Morey.

By all accounts and people that have worked with Marcus, he will shine at the 3. If we have to put him at the 4 we're kind of boned.

I don't understand why Morey is so enamored with Hill/Budinger. They're both more expendable in my eyes than Patterson/Lee.

 

And another #14 pick in next years draft? Crap we have so many assets that we know nothing about because there are not enough minutes for them to adjust and show what they have.

If Patterson is included in the trade, then the whole thing needs to be reworked.

Sorry to burst your bubble. Houston won't get a chance at a + 7 footer who can play both offense and defense so easily again. Pure luck in getting Yao Ming.
I don't like Gasol either but I believe us in getting him would trigger something bigger and more players are willing to come play along him.
Developing Thabeet will take a lot of time.
I don't think Morey, McHale and the owner are not going to do the waiting game.
Dalembert is a good option who can be a good complimentary player to Gashol IMO.

 

Gasol is not a treading water move. It is a consolidating talent move that will net a better player, open cap space to acquire more talent, and allow younger players that can play both ways to get more playing time.

The younger talent going to the Hornets does give me some pause. I will have to see just how much young talent is sent to NO for me to know if it is a good deal. I hope it is one of the young players that wouldn't be here next year any way.

 

I'd love it if this were the trade but it's obviously not.

Umm yeah Dwight would rather pick and roll in LA with Chris Paul over Deron in Brooklyn.

 

If we give up more players it has to be Hill/Thabust/TWill, etc. Don't give up our real potential.
