I remember Moey talking about how Bosh was the perfect pairing with Yao has on floor position. He said because Bosh loved the right side of the post and Yao the left, it would increase both guys effectiveness. maybe he sees something in Nene and Gasol
How can you flip a signed FA immediately? I thought you had to wait until a certain point in the season.
KevinDing KEVIN DING Gasol practicing (chatting with Bynum right now). Odom not at facility, getting physical, according to Lakers.
It's sir, and Yeah, but I am not trying to start my FIRST NEW thread about Lakers being in the run for Dwight Howard.
Sure, very possible, but it hasn't been rumored yet. Either way, lets not act like our team is going to be negatively impacted by the loss of Jordan Hill. Besides awesome hair, what does that guy bring to the table...really?
I've hit refresh so much, this thread may never go stale. And still have no clue what's really happening.
If it is true that Odom goes to New Orleans and Okafor goes to the Lakers, it sure looks like to me that we are in the catbird seat to acquire Dwight if we sign Nene. We would have the ability to give Orlando more assets and take back more bad salary than any other team. And if there is anything to the tampering charge from the Nets, that is going to block the Nets from trading for Dwight. That would leave the Lakers (where Dwight would sign an extension), the Mavs (Dwight would probably sign an extension there if they had enough cap space in 2012 to sign DWill outright) and the Rox (Dwight would probably sign here if he knew we had the cap space to get DWill in 2012). So, with Gasol, Nene, and most of our young talent, plus our picks, who is going to be able to give Orlando the best deal and the quickest rebuild for Dwight???? I believe firmly it is us. We could send them both Gasol and Nene along with a draft pick or three and another youngster or two like PPat/Twill/Chase, etc. for Dwight and Hedo and Jameer or Redick, and still have enough cap space in 2012 to ofer DWill a max deal or entice NY to S&T DWill for Lowry and a trade exception when they see he's going to walk for nothing. Now, all these options without actually having to execute them. We may find that the core of Gasol/Nene/Lowry is great and all we have to do is tinker with the wing positions to be the Conference champ coming out of the East. Who knows? But we will be in the catbird seat if we sign Nene and the trade goes through for Gasol without giving up any more of our young talent and picks.
Hornets may look to trade Odom if he's not happy going to NO, do we want him, if he's willing to come here? Might come cheap, talent-wise.
