Lol, they won't keep him. They'd be dumb if they do. The guy is overrated and has $40'5M in 3 years. Add Bynum's and Bryant's contract. Uuuuuuh.

So, Bynum is injured, you play Okafor at C (Pau would be happy :p ), you no PF, Kobe is aging, CP3 has knees degenerative problems.... WOW, DEAL OF THE CENTURY!

If Okafor wasn't sent to LA, then brace yourselves for Dwight trade to Lakers.

Alright I did a bit of research on all this tax advantage Nene would get and here's what I found.

    According to this article:
    http://www.taxfoundation.org/news/show/26503.html

Top tax rate in New Jersey: 8.97%

For convenience sake I will just use home games for the course of the contract and I will just use the 17.5m average over 4 years (70m/4 years)

For the 2011-12 season he would be getting paid approximately $265,152 per game.So this means Nene will pay $784,875 total just for home games.

When the Nets move to Brooklyn Tax increases to 10.50%.

For the remaining 3 years on the contract Nene will play 123 total home games. Nene will be paying a total $2,756,250 over the course of the 3 years in Brooklyn

Total Tax paid in home games: $3,541,125

Remember this is just for home games and the state of New York has one of the higher tax rates so there is a good chance he pay at the 10.50% rate for the majority of road games.

jtr, ask yourself this question, will the Rockets contend with Gasol-Nene? The answer is clearly, NO! Will it improve the team? Probably. Is that the goal? NO! My answer is simple, tank and pray you get a superstar, that person will make the city attractive by other stars wanting to play here too. There is a new trend in the NBA, its superteam. Build one or be left behind, that is the new game.

Seems to me that only way this deal could be revised is to put Bynum in for Odom and send Okafor back to Lakers.
