I don't think Morey would make this move unless he knows he can snag Nene or other player to play alongside him.
It appears this deal is getting done, according to what I just read, its the Hornets and Lakers who are going to change the structure of their deal, so Houston will still be sending the same assets. I hope everyone enjoys a Gasol-Nene tandem, IMO its terrible, we still don't have a #1 option. Gasol will always be a second option. This just delays the inevitable decline of the team, the Rockets need a superstar through the draft, quite simple really, there is no other way.
Marc is a better option because Pau is more of a PF to me. But chances of getting Marc is slim and none. DeAndre sounds good too and would be cheaper than Nene.
Since it hasn't leaked what the new deal is, I am assuming the only way Dan Gilbert could weigh in is if Stern called and was like 'Here's the deal, what do you want me to do?'
You guys seem to love Patterson even more. My guess is he would've been traded for a wing if Chuck had re-signed.
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski Aaron Gray has agreed to a one-year deal with Toronto Raptors, league source tells Y! Sports. For CH.
He could have accepted the offer from NJ since it's been out there for a while now. He is waiting for something.
Gasol was a very solid player for the Grizz. He's also played arguably his best basketball season last year. Just because he had one bad playoff run doesnt eman he's gonna pplay as bad the rest of the way
I like the Pau trade from yesterday. There is no Nene trade. Marc can't sign with us unless Memphis gives him the go ahead (unlikely). It's not my job to fantasize about pipe dream trades or signings. Pau and Nene, without wings continues our path to mediocrity. Les needs to bite the bullet and rebuild. Should have done that three years ago.
Sure Marc has leverage. "Hey Chris, trade me to where I want to go, or I'm going to sign the qualifying offer and walk at the end of the year."
You want an alternative? Alright. Try to trade Scola, Martin, Lowry or basically anybody else for a young aspiring star like Rondo, Westbrook, Noah... if that doesn`t work, try to trade them for lottery picks and expiring contracts. It`s not like that isn`t possible...
rockets role is unchanged. good, we shouldn't give up any more in this trade anyway. Stern wants young players/picks, the lakers have to pay up. My guess is they throw in 2 future picks (since they will be late first round) and the max cash allowed.
