No - capspace would be the reason to keep Scola (at 8 million a year) over the slight upgrade of Nene (at 16 million a year) - or over the worse player but better shot blocker at Dalambert (at 9 million a year). Scola is not a very good defender, but next to a shotblocker (such as Gasol) he would be alright. And it would give us some cap space to get a decent wing player.
If we get Gasol and keep Scola/Martin, it is a RIDICULOUS HOMERUN by DM... A top 15 player without giving up our 3 best players?
Seeing as how the Lakers don't have much youth, I'm worried LA, NO, and maybe even Stern are using our insistence on Pau to leverage us into mortgaging our future and sending everything plus the kitchen sink to NOLA for the trade to "work". Not a huge Gasol fan, and if it costs us Bud, PatPat, DMo, and other guys like that I'm going to be even less so.

It's just a rumor... but if it's true I'm okay with it since we keep Martin and Scola. It fits with the "win now" attitude of trading for Gasol.
Well that would be the ultimate win now scenario. Trade all of our future and keep the best players for now. It will give us the best chance to win a championship with Gasol - but it will destroy all we`ve worked for if it doesn`t work out now.
