Just fyi, read somewhere that sources dispute the $70 mil figure. Insiders say $64mil/5 year. I'll try and find the twitter feed and post it.

That only applies when the teams are evenly built. When the other team is clearly superior no amount of superstar power will win you games (See Kobe-Lakers vs PHX, LBJ-Cavs vs Spurs).

No need. Only Nuggets can offer nene a 5 year contract.

If other teams value Nene that high, that makes him more flippable later.

Just sayin'. It's a high pricetag, but there are mitigating factors.

Who the hell is Nene that suddenly makes us title contenders? Were the Nuggets title contenders because of Nene?

The Nets have reportedly increased their bid for Nene to four years and $70 million.
As pointed out by Nets writer Devin Kharpertian, such a huge sum doesn't exactly make sense for New Jersey to lavish on Nene, especially when they had "already out-priced their competition for Nene at $60 million." Yahoo! Sports reports that New Jersey is still working tirelessly to engineer a Dwight Howard trade, so take your Nene rumors with a grain of salt.

The high price tag now won't indicate his value later on. Slowmile Swift actually took a discount to sign with us for the mid-level. Half a season later, we couldn't unload him for a bag of chips.

I would say exactly the contrary. In a year people will be saying it is hard to move a player like Nene with that huge contract. I am pretty sure that his contract will be considered one of the worst in the entire league. He is no star - he is no all-star either. He is just a good player that shouldn`t be paid anywhere in that range.

I said Nene+Lowry+Kmart+Pau will make us title contenders. We trade away Kmart and I don't think Pau and Nene will make us contenders.

They were a 50 win team and the 5th seed despite trading Carmelo and Billups during the year.

The Pacers are interested in Nene and have to spend $15 million to meet this season's minimum payroll. The beat writer who covers them Mike Wells wrote they don't want Nene at that price.

I'd rather NOT have Nene than pay him 15 million, simple as that.

Morey is ferry string desperate and that is a sign of weakness. Can't act in desperation especially when the move won't even make us contenders. This is RASHARD LEWIS type overpaying if this is what is going to happen.
