The discussion has been and is about what you post on the trade. It can't be about you, because all I know is what you post. If you can't take discussion about what you post, you should not be posting.

I am pointing out that your posts on this topic are

    - repetitive (I'll spare us providing the examples, but others have mentioned it)
    - premature (you are already whining about a deal where you don't know at all what it will be in the end)
    - inconsistent ("Morey will lose his job", "Morey is a good GM").

You also fail to say what better deal you see out there.

You keep pointing out (and rightly so, but that's not difficult) that Pau is not a top 5 or top 10 guy like Nowitzki or formerly Duncan that, by himself, puts you in contention.

But then you never address it when you are asked:

Is there a better player than Pau anywhere out there that we would have a shot at getting?

I don't understand why you complain about getting a top 20 guy by saying we should be getting a top 5 guy, when no top 5 guy is on the market.

If your argument was "rather than trying to get Pau, we should be trying to get Dwight Howard", I would agree with you. But then again, we don't know if we have already been trying to do that. My guess is we have.

By the way, I also agree with you that paying $ 13, 14, 15 M per year for Nene is too much. I'd rather keep Scola, then.

Sacrificing our future PF for Pau is a mistake. Patterson is no Chuck, but Pau needs a frontcourt player who is adequate on defense next to him. I'm not trying to criticize you. Thanks for the update.

The Astros realized where they were and moved on. They were in a deeper hole than the Rockets are now...but one of the biggest enemies to being great is convincing yourself you're good enough when you're not. I feel like Les was stuck there for a very long time, just as Drayton was.

The Rockets have lots of moving pieces they could use to rebuild far more quickly than the Astros...not to mention the fact the rosters are much smaller in hoops and one or two players changes the entire complexion of your team.

It's from Rotoworld.com's update on CP:

    http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nba/1115/chris-paul

The update is allegedly sourced from this Ken Berger article on CBS Sports:

    http://ken-berger.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/11838893/33780584

However, no where did Berger's article mention that "Stern" is trying to get "both Patterson and Lee," it just says "potential candidates to go to New Orleans being Patrick Patterson, Courtney Lee and an assembly of draft pick."

Berger's article just says Patterson and Lee are among the potential candidates going to New Orleans, it didn't specifically say both (it may end up being both, but Berger's sentence in no way specifies it).

Reading comprehension fail by a fantasy sports website.

ATW, I've been discussing this in here for a while now. You're the only one choosing to make this about me instead of the discussion itself. I've disagreed with knote and 22WinStreak and TheCat and all those guys, and it's been just fine. You disagree with my arguments. That's great. But throwing out troll and telling me to look in the mirror? Really? It's a basketball forum. We're talking about a trade. This isn't that important in the grand scheme of things.

I've been pretty clear over and over that there's no way for me or for any of us to argue about what other deals are better...we're not privy to that information. It's not a discussion we can have with any sort of logic. And just because I don't like this deal doesn't mean I wouldln't like another...or I wouldn't like this deal under different terms...or that we have to make a deal at all.

And I've probably posted at least 5 times this morning since you've been harping on my posts that I thought the chance of us getting that sort of alpha player was better in the draft than elsewhere.

Mad Max, Around the World, and others -

I created a thread about imperfect options and current WC power rankings and would appreciate your thoughts and views. I would have put it in here but it is a long ass post, and given how fast stuff flies in this thread, i figured it would be passed before it was ever posted.

Thank you for taking up DD's old role and striking up different conversations with just about every poster on this thread. Keeps the forum busy while we wait for updates LOL

    Trade On Again

The New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers are pushing toward completing the reconstructed framework of a trade that could make Chris Paul the Lakers point guard this weekend, league sources told Yahoo! Sports

I would rather send Lee in the deal. Having athletic bigs is more important than backup guards in my opinion. We got T Will and J Taylor back to refill Lee's spot. Martin with Gasol and Nene would be very good I think.

I didn't call you a troll. Someone did. I only mentioned it in response to you being overly sensitive to me disagreeing with you.

Of course not. But it's funny that you would respond to everything else in my post but not to the things I said about the trade. You are the one making it about you, not me.

Everybody knows Pau is not really a franchise player. So sure we can build a strong team around him but if something/someone becomes available later that would require Pau's salary/talent, you gauge the situation at that time and see if it's worth moving Pau. Everything is liquid, when we finally start winning championships or make deep playoff runs is when you think about holding on to key players and make sure they have a chance to make another run at the title/playoffs.

As of right now, it's either Morey looking to make moves to better the team or we go backwards and into the lottery (the top 5 picks area where the crappiest teams usually pick). Take your pick, Morey seems to be choosing the former.

Giving up Lee AND Martin is a bad deal imo.

One of them needs to be our starting 2 guard.

And for all the talk about how easy it is to acquire a near all-star SG, it sure wasn't easy for us to get Martin. Tell the Bulls that SGs are a dime a dozen.

Sadly for Morey, I don't think that's his choice at all. He's been pretty clear in comments that he thinks losing would be an easier path to rebuilding; but his boss won't allow him to do that.

If we did give up Lee/Martin, I can't say I wouldn't be just a little bit excited to see a

    1. Kyle Lowry
    2. Terrence Williams
    3. Chase Budinger

    starting backcourt+Bud... :)

The only way we could be sending out our young guys is, if we are keeping our old guys. With Pau we are betting on the next 3 years - so let`s say we give them Lee and PPat and keep Martin and Scola. Add some pieces for the salaries to match (Thabeet, Hill, Flynn, T-Will).

    A starting line up of:

    Lowry / Dragic
    Martin / ?
    CBud / Morris
    Scola / ?
    Gasol / ?

    Wouldn`t look that bad.

But really - just let this deal die already. With what Stern is asking, the only way I would do this trade is if we got Paul. But with us giving up all our crown jewels and only getting the second best player in the trade - just step out of the room and make a run at Howard or the lottery (yeah I know Les doesn`t allow tanking).
