Thabeet would be my wild guess... They have to take on some crap because we had to pull all the strings. Maybe Jordan Hill as well...

Why did the Rockets sign SG Jermaine Taylor and C Omar Samhan? Leads me to think Scola,Martin,Dragic, pick + Hill and/or Thabeet is what Morey is offering. Why is it taking this long? i bet NO is asking for Lee or Patterson to be included. Whom which Morey would be hesitant to give up IMO.

I'd think it would be Lee (exp. contract) replacing Martin with the Lakers giving up some picks along with the Ny pick from us. Patterson should ONLY be included if we're given a NO 2012 second rd, and Okafor.

I thought Kevin Martin was a fairy when we got him for Landry.

He still is a fairy, but I learned to live with it...

With the Hornets wanting younger guys, maybe that allowed us to keep Scola or Martin..

I am still holding out hope that the Hornets take Lee over Martin, even if we have to give them Patterson and Lee.

(I think it makes more sense for both teams If that was the case)

What the hell? that means the Lakers will get Okafor/Paul for getting rid of basically Gasol/Odom?

Exactly. That is exactly what we need to pray for!

    1. Kyle Lowry
    2. Kevin Martin
    3.
    4. Pau Gasol
    5. Nene

Could be a legitimate championship contender, imo...

Nene and Gasol give us "cornerstone" of the franchise. Two seven footers allowing for one of the top interior defense in the NBA. What's more? Both can score and they compliment each other. Nene is the interior scorer while Gasol is the post-up guy and good shooter. This isn't like like Hakeem and Barkley sharing the post. They'll play off of each other.

This give us a 4-5 seed type team in the west. And one piece away from a true contender. Imagine adding an Iggy or Granger to this team by trading several of the rest of our young guys. We'd have a shot to take on the Lakers and the Mavs in the west. We would probably be something like the Suns of the last decade. A team that's always in the mix, but may not go over the hump.

TBH, even if we tank, we might just come back to the same scenario years later even if we were successful. The odds of having a dynasty even by tanking is small. Tim Duncan and Shaq were the only true Championship caliber players almost by themselves in the past two decades.

    That won't happen.

The Lakers MUST have a crappier deal coming If the league has accepted it over the outcry of the last one...

Is there enough cap room to keep Scola or Martin, absorb Gasol's contract AND sign Nene to what he wants?

I am confused. Can't believe my eyes that Morey sold the Lee and the picks.

If we can keep Martin when all this is said and done, while adding expirings so we can sign Nenne, Morey should be given a lifetime extension. That would be insane. What's more insane is that We'd still have enough young players left to still get another trade done.
