It's been pretty quiet in the Memphis-Gasol front hasn't it? We haven't heard one thing about them as of today. A Gasol/Gasol frontcourt would be hell for opposing frontcourts.
I don't think he as a choice. The highest bidder who's under the cap would acquire him. Don't think for one second the Kings or some other team wouldn't put a claim on him.
Whats the last GARM thread to go 250+ pages? Without looking my guess is maybe the 2011 Draft (but that separates into separate threads for players/trades) so my official guess is the TMac trade to NY.
If I had to guess and this is just a gut feeling... Gasol brothers to Houston. Marc Gasol asks Memphis not to match and we make an offer for around 15 M per which makes it tough on them Nene to NJ Howard to LAL I can't wait for this to end.
First they give you 2 g ... so thats the limiting reagent ... so 2g x 1mol Na2CO3/ 106g gives u number of moles then multiple that number of moles by the molar mass of Na ( 23 ) and you have the grams only thing to be careful of is the mole to mole ratios ... i think you will end up multiplying your answer by 2 or 3 ... i dont wanna wirte the reaction out
Their owner said he will match whatever (max is 14.5mil starting) but I think that if we offer 12mil starting with the incentive of playing with his older brother, no state income tax, and personal accountant then Marc would want to sign with HOU. Grizz owner would be in bind because Marc can ask them not to re-up him (how can the owner say no to family???) and also that kind of contract would put ~58 mil for 4 players when the heavy tax penalty comes into play in a couple years. The only way we can do this numbers wise is to sign him first (see my previous post).
http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=6446210&postcount=2088 "As for brother Mark’s future, Gasol would like to 'see him with a franchise that has better options” than the Memphis Grizzlies.'"
They can match anything but theres two major isses here: 1.) I've read that Memphis will not match if "Gasol doesn't want to be there". While I don't pretend to know what Gasol wants, I think its feasable to think that he might jump at the chance to play with his brother. This is supported by earlier reports that he has already turned down an offer from them. 2.) In my personal opinion, with the new mega luxury penalties, theres no way Memphis can afford to keep all three of Gasol/Randolph/Gay at max deals. Keep in mind that Mayo and Conley also have significant deals as well. This is an owner who held out for months on Xavier Henry's rookie scale deal just to try and save a few hundred thousand dollars. While the most likely scenario is Gay being traded, letting Gasol walk is not entirely unrealistic.
I think some of you guys aren't realizing that GASOL DOESN'T WANT TO PLAY IN HOUSTON. And here I thought we had finished our tenure with overpaid crybabies.
Last post till morning (or a few hours) for me. I'm gonna guess tomorrow our depth chart will be: PG: Lowry/Flynn SG: Lee/Taylor SF: Morris/Twill PF: Gasol/Pat C: Nene/Gasol I think Bud and Hill arethe "young" prospects... Pat should be untouchable in my opinion!
Okay one more... Although Pau is a whiny player, he seems like a stand up guy who would make the best out of any situation.
