I thought David West was a FA who opted out of his contract? ESPN reported earlier that the Celtics were already getting him.
He was S&T for Jermaine O'neal and a young player to be named later, most likely Avery Bradley and the Clippers 1st round pick.
Bima, what about Gasol's 15% trade kicker though? Doesn't Gasol's salary get bumped to $20M-ish level's? I've yet to see anybody in the media mention this. What am I missing?
Be much happier with Marc Gasol, when he goes beast mode he can make a difference in the middle. Not so flashy but rarely disappears from a game.
That's what I was thinking: If the Rockets are going to have to throw in, say, Lee or Patterson, perhaps they can ask NOR or LAL to take on, say, Flynn or TWill, too and open up even more cap space. Anyhow, lets see what happens. Many moving parts still it seems.
I'm not talking about Scola and Martin. I'm talking about the Rockets adding guys like Patterson, Morris, or Lee in addition to a first round pick. We're not getting Chris Paul but we are giving New Orleans the most in this deal.
I just went through 31 pages of this thread and it's 115am. Holey ****. Somebody please tell me how many grams of NaCl I get if I fully react 2grams of Na2CO3 with HCl? Then I can go back to bbs without having to worry about my final tomorrow.
The Rockets will surely have to "overpay" for Nene, but it may be the difference between contending or not. Sometimes, you have to pay a premium for that. The Lakers paid a ton of luxury tax while contending. The Rockets will STILL be under the cap. As I mentioned in my EDIT, I underestimated the amount of cap room the Rockets would have after this trade and after amnesty waiving Thabeet. No MLE if the Rockets sign Nene. They will have waived the MLE to opt for the cap room necessary to sign Nene. Still, they could have a little room left over (which could be used to bid on amnesty waivers) or could use the new $2.5M Room Exception.
I'm sure these GM's have gone to bed too. We're just here sorta discussing their leftovers from today
He does dissappear from games. Did you watch the regular season last year? He has HUGE bouts of pure laziness...
Good point. That probably takes us back to being just about capped out post-Nene. They'd still have the Room Exception but can't use that to bid on amnesty waivers
Team gutting in progress for two, almost past their prime, players. What's even worse is the majority of you are all for it.
Would Gasol be willing to waive his right to using the trade kicker if it meant getting added talent? Or does the player have no say if it gets kicked in or not.
