If you'd stop being a reactionary armchair for once and look at simple facts you'd realize that the potential cap space cleared up in this deal almost assuredly means that there is a handshake deal in place with a big fish to solidify this team's biggest weakness, front court size.
Yes, perspectives perspectives. Anyhow, hate to let Pat go, but it is easier to find a good 6.9" PF than to find long 7" bigs like Pau and Nene.
IF we have Nene (and that's a big IF) then it makes losing Patterson a bit less painful. Actually, no, keep Patterson! He should be just about the most untouchable guy on our list!
Eh..great..crappy draft picks! Oh well, so this is what you get for hoarding up "assets"? (BTW not hating on morey, think he's done great and interested to see where this trade will take us)
Losing Chuck is the bitter pill to swallow in this mess, I'm sure part of Morey's plan was to finalize the Pau trade last night and sign Nene and resign Chuck. Losing Patterson or Lee puts a dent in the rotation.
If we are getting the 2012 Laker first round pick, which would be a low first rounder. Considering the depth of the talent pool, a low first rounder could be as good as Patterson.
This is basically a power struggle over the whole league. They are done allowing players deciding where they will play. Teaming themselves up to ONLY play in large markets. DONE. But here we are just out of these negotiations and they throw this in the Commish's face and dare him. I don't think he'll approve it out of spite alone.
It is going to suck giving up Ppat because if the league had just approved the deal in the first place we'd be keeping him. I really hope it doesn't happen. Why does the league want us to give up more young players? It's not registering with me right now, maybe I am dumb.
So basically "Nene". Ok fine, let's say we get Gasol and Nene. What next? Who's gonna fill in at the 2? The 3? Front court size is important, but don't discredit the wings.
I am not very excited with those picks either. I would rather get a tangible player If we are shifting into "win now" mode with Lowry/Gasol/Nene...
Yeah. I think I am most bummed about losing Chuck. He's not only an endearing player, but he also is a winner.
