As long as Lowry and Martin stay, it's all good

    Yes...

    You would have to get

    Lee
    Budinger
    Hill
    Thabeet
    and maybe one of Flynn/Williams

    Off the payrole...

It is very possible. And I feel like it makes a bit of sense for the Hornies...

"HOU willing to make moves." -- I will say I am very glad I constantly read this during free agency frenzies, deadlines and drafts. Whether or not something happens, I feel confident that Morey is busting his butt and always making sure he turns his pieces into something better.

That's how it will be here. Some people will say in morey we trust, some will say fire morey. I praise him though. We say we will be stuck in mediocraty if we say as is. People here don't want to give up anything. I mean gasol is the 2nd or 3rd best center in the whole nba. Even if the deal goes through and we don't get nene, we will be ok because ppat will only get better. I honestly think we can get nene though. Wouldn't he have signed already if he really wanted

****, the rockets might be squeezed out of the deal now...

    Quote:
The trade may or may not ultimately involve the Houston Rockets, who were part of the initial version of the three-team deal, which was vetoed by NBA Commissioner David Stern Thursday night. In that version, the Hornets would send Paul, a four-time All-Star, to the Lakers. The Lakers would send forward Pau Gasol to Houston, and send forward Lamar Odom to New Orleans. The Hornets would receive forward Luis Scola, guards Kevin Martin and Goran Dragic and a 2012 first-round pick from Houston. But now, the deal could involve more or different teams that can provide the Hornets with the combination of young players and additional Draft picks that the league is seeking for Paul.

If we're adding more players, we better be taking something out. Martin, Scola, Dragic, and picks was already almost (if not) too much. I trust Morey to not throw whatever the Hornets want in, though.

Sure don't like the sound of us adding even more.

I guess at this point you go for it, but man, that's a lot for Pau Gasol & being able to offer Nene near max money...

Can you please agree that if we do that trade we are screwed?

Rockets still hopeful to cut this deal and get back in Nene hunt. Need deal to clear cap space to offer $15 mill/per, which NJ is offering.

Everyone go to bed because nothing is going to happen tonight.
You have to remember that the three teams will be extra cautious not to reveal another 3 team proposition before it finalizes.
Stern still needs to look at it and approve it and he's probably called it in a couple hours ago.

Just know that it's still going on and it looks like all 3 sides are determined to make it happen.

Although with the whole D West to Celtics and Stern wanting more youth and picks, I wonder if we will keep Martin and substitute it with a younger package such as Scola/Dragic/NY pick + choice of 2 of Bud,Twil,Lee,Hill,Thabs, etc.
This should still allow us to pursue Nene (I actually think the main goal is Marc Gasol because his max starts at ~12+ mil/year I believe and he can ask the Griz not to match so that he can play with his brother), although retaining Chuck is no longer possible so we don't need the additional cap space.

    Gasol
    Gasol
    ?
    Martin
    Lowry

    that would be awesome.

Sources say Rockets are likely to put one or two young players into the deal. Unclear which ones, but HOU willing to make moves.

If we give up Lee, Morris, Lowry, or Patterson and don't keep Martin or get a good pick/player in return....I'm completely off this trade. We're already giving up 2 automatic starters and a solid backup.

Scola, Bud, Flynn and Hill should do.
