How can the package get younger without us adding players? What young players do the Lakers have to offer?

My gut feeling is that Martin will be a Hornet and Scola will be a Laker by the end of the weekend.

I'm still against this deal but I've learned not to doubt Morey, seems like he has plan and place and its better to go forward with that than be left in shambles like we are now after Stern blocked the trade.

Keeping the cheap young players mean we have better bullets for more trades. Good move

If you're correct, I might be going to trial for manslaughter against Morey.

You could still gain the space If you sent out a number of our young players including Chase/Lee/Dragic/Hill... (The Lakers might like to have a look at a PF like Hill...)

    This.

Rockets not changing their outgoing players is a good thing for Rockets if we are going to make one big signing and one or two other big moves. Which, I honestly think we have another trade after we sign the other big.

If the NBA wants "younger talent" on the Hornets, Rockets should send them the '09 draft class instead of Martin. ;)

    I don't disagree.

I hope we can land someone as impactful as Martin...

So agree. Rockets are giving up their best 2 scoring
options and best bench spark, AND a pick for Gasol.
WTF is going on here. I cannot understand how anyone
who witnessed Gasol get abused in the playoffs is for this.

As Bima pointe out, Lakers might ear salary from another team i. Exchange for pick sent to NO.

Rival executives expecting three-team deal to get worked out to meet NBA approval. "They are going to get there," texted a GM

Glad to hear the Rockets aren't having to chip in anything else. Forget about this being a "basketball" decision....it was money all the way. LA has to take more salary, while keeping enough pieces to get Howard.

My guess is by Monday, Pau and Nene are both Rockets, and by Wednesday, they've signed a Vet 3 just off amnesty.
