I still think giving Nene $14-16M would be a mistake. He's just not worth that much. Don't think it's all that close either. Still a lot better than Okafor. Okafor and Bynum? Nice rebounding combo, but good luck spacing the floor and guarding perimeter 4's.
I'm relying on this info: “@WojYahooNBA: Celtics likely send Jermaine O'Neal and another player to New Orleans in sign-and-trade, sources said. Hornets would move players elsewhere.”
I'd be happy with whichever one plays best with Dwight. I suspect after the Gasol trade is completed that Morey is going to offer up Gasol and someone else for Dwight and Hedo, then add some picks and whatever leftover talent we have left and take back some more of Orlando's contracts. Lowry Lee Hedo Dwight Nene There you go man.
Sometimes I feel like people completely base their argument off what they see on the basic stat sheet.
!!! I agree to that also. Martin is a scorer ..Top league we need to trade LEE OR BUD...I prefer BUD..but I like LEE but martin is a scorer... Lowry Martin Morris Meka. Gasol Wow that's a winning team..i mean and our bench.
We could do much worse than Pau and Emeka, but I feel like Nene and Pau might truly let us win big without a real superstar. You are getting two of the best best offensive finishers at the 4-5 spot in the entire league. Throw some shooters out there that can defend, who knows? (Please tell me we have a revised deal with young players going out, and Martin sticking around...)
Jermaine and Thabeet (both expirings) = Okafor Okafor goes to LA with Paul. We get Pau. Odom, Scola, Martin, young player, pick to N.O.
But if you dig deeper into their offensive numbers, Nene can be a beast while Okafor is more like Shane Battier- he mostly stays out of the way. Nene led the league in FG% last year, and it's not like he was just shooting easy baskets. He can finish around the rim with the best of them. Okafor was the 2nd most blocked player in the league and didn't even average 1 assist per game. Okafor also shot 56% from the line, so we'd have to worry about a Hack-Emeka strategy. Do we really want to go back to have a major offensive liability on offense?
Nope, we would have to trade ALL of the above. Lee, Bud, Dragic, Hill, Thabeet would ALL have to go to get the caproom to sign Nene.
So it would become a 4 team deal then? I still think Boston has way too many PF's with KG, West, Green and Bass. One of them has to go. Unless Boston is gonna start KG at center?
KBergCBS Ken Berger Terms of 3-team deal that would send Chris Paul to Lakers still being discussed. The deal "still has a chance," one of the parties said.
