With the recent trade falling through it is apparent it has stirred some bad blood, most forwardly put by Martin who definitely wants out. Again comes to mind Morey's approach, using the word assets (again used in first interview with McHale @ training facility) and treating them like one.
My guess is Morey didn't contact any player beforehand and maybe even made promises. Is his business approach starting to turn on us ?

I would say yes it is. Last year, Battier had to find out on the internet apparently that he was traded. To me, Martin has every reason not wanting to play for the Rockets anymore. Do you guys Martin just has to take this since it's a business and he's getting paid millions so just go out and play so Morey is doing the right thing or is he wrong here ?

Morey's job is try to make the team better. Martin's job is to play basketball.

They don't have to love each other... they just need to do their job and everything will be fine.

Up to this point, I'd say both guys have definitely done their job.

I hope Morey keeps doing what he's doing in trying to make this team better (thats his job). My heart totally bleeds for Kevin Martin and his $11,500,000 salary.

Those who back Morey are the ones angry at the thread. Personally I agree the guy needs to stop crunching numbers and actually care about what the players feel or think. It may be a business but they're human and have feelings that affect their play. Even if Pau were to come here who's to say that he won't be so bitter that he hardly plays like he's capable of?

It is a pointless thread. The reason is because Martin has no choice but to play wherever he ends up anyways. This is not even a reason to worry about since we have no Star players here right now to worry about it for.

I understand Martin is taking it personal but it's a business. It sucks, but that's what it has always been about.

I'm aware and I'm guessing that's a rhetorical question. Do you think you can win with horrible team morale? I didn't like the trade, but I know it was a step in the right direction and I don't fault Morey for that. I'm not on the fire Morey bandwagon, I'll wait and see what direction we end up going with, but I haven't necessarily agreed with how he's handled a few of our veteran Rockets and I think even you can agree with that.

I agree, somewhat. I don't know Morey personally so I don't know for sure how he operates. It's his rep as a number cruncher, stat geek that hurts him. Farfetched as it may seem, maybe he doesn't let players know of upcoming trades in order to keep them from lashing out or ruining it (T Mac micro-fracture surgery).

I don't know him either just perception seems as though he lacks emotion. But we all know he's a smart guy, so I give him the benefit of the doubt and hope for the best.

    a) "Your guess" is just a GUESS.

    b) It's a BUSINESS.

    c) The players are merely EMPLOYEES, not the children of Les or DM.

Would you have felt better if Morey had called everyone in for a group hug before announcing the trade?

These guys get paid huge sums of money and they all know that at any moment, they might be forced to switch uniforms. If that hurts someone's feelings, I don't want that pu$$y on my team anyway.
