Yes. That's more attractive to a potential buyer. I don't see how anyone can argue that NO taking on extra salary for older players makes them more attractive to a buyer.

Well the hornets definitely should not be owned by the league! Imagine if NO ends up even better now than they would of last night! Every time they trade with someone, stern will veto it until the other team makes a better offer

Why isn't the solution that LA throws in draft picks?

I highly doubt Morey is as smart as people think or claim he is. If he were, there is no way he would re-negotiate. Sweeten the deal, sweeten the deal ?? We are already getting screwed and proven Morey is not the wizard but a desperate GM hoping faith in him will finally pay off before Leslie fired his nerdy ass.

That's what I was thinking. You've got these owners whose teams most likely suck, probably b/c they suck or they put people in charge who suck, trying to tell other people what an acceptable trade should look like.

If Shinn was still the owner and trying to sell he would do the same. Those vet contracts aren't desirable for buyers.

Quality picks. SOmething Houston has and LA doesnt.

Younger players - something Houston has and LA doesnt.

Houston doing the dirty work for LA for LA to get Paul. And just for Houston to get Pau? Sorry, no thanks. I didnt like this deal to begin with and I'm still not convinced this is a good deal to make.

Tell you what Pete...I'd even give them the Knick's pick and a future 2nd rounder (55+ range) if they need a sweetener.

Replacing Pau with Bynum drops the money commitment so that replacing Scola with Patterson (and Bud) evens things out. Lakes send a pick NO's way and take back Ariza instead of the TE.

    Done.

Not that I want Bynum or like the trade at all.

Ultimately, if the deal has to be sweetened for Hornets when they were already getting more than FMV for "star on his way out" and we're the ones sweetening it, we better get something amazing back from LA.

    What draft picks?

The league wants the Hornets to have quality ones. Lakers will always be at the bottom of the 1st round.

We have to somehow pry Chicago's Charlotte 1st rounder.

Always great to see a very sane post in a thread that lost it's sanity a long damn time ago.
