We may need to get a 4th team to offer some picks and young players.

Why would we have to give up more to get this trade done? We're already giving up more than LA here. Maybe LA throws in a pick, hmm?

People are also clearly forgetting Gasol does not want to play for us. How is that going to work, to build around him (which is a joke to me but hey, Morey went to MIT right ;) when he doesn't even wanna be here in the 1st place ? Why trade so many good players for an a-hole who doesn't respect the Rockets ?

The league needs to stay out of this. Nobody cares about them.

Whichever way you look at it, Houston are just helping the Lakers land CP3 while Lakers make out like bandits

Houston has to do more dirty work for LA if they(or everyone) wants this deal to pass.

The problem is NOLA has ZERO leverage. Teams arent going to give up their future for a one year rental.

Adding Lee, Patterson, Morris, or Lowry in place of Scola or Martin makes this trade worthless to the Rockets.

No and no. We should just forget about Lakers altogether and trade for Chris Paul ourselves because the Lakers are offering nothing to get him themselves. We are the ones ofering up picks, young players, 20 point scorers, multiple starters. Forget it.

Dan Gilbert's email, which started all this crap, didn't even mention the Hornets. It was all about LA getting Paul and a TE.

Like I said, we gotta get a 4th team with depth in here.

Will Minnesota part with Michael Beasley for scraps?

I agree with this directive. Truly rebuild. Heck, if an acceptable deal for Paul cannot be worked out, then have a fire sale on the rest of the roster. Activate tank mode.

Its not that he doesnt want to play for us, he just doesnt want to leave LA. I mean why would you? They won a ship with him there, they have one of the top 7 NBA players in Kobe, have a giant young Center to help out, and the most versatile 6 Man in odom.

He paid his dues on a rebuilding team and there are no guarantees Nene will come here...its not an issue of respect...not in the least.

Odom is on a FANTASTIC contract, and Martin's is 2 years at fair $. Scola's a bit long, but contract length/$$ should not be issue.

mods, Can we please get an update to the thread title?

This contract is like Oprah's weight... first it's done, then it's not, then it's done, then it's not (that's what she said)... ugh...
