Martin, Dragic, Patterson and Buddinger. I'm thinking that is our package if we offer youth. No more pick no more Scola.
please don't tell me we trade our best young players and picks for a 3 year PF rental - yes rental because he doesn't buy us anything even if you add Nene.
So it looks to me that Stern is not so much against Paul going to LA as Paul and Howard going to LA. My guess is that this deal gets approved if it can be done in a way that makes it near impossible for LA to trade for Howard. If that is the case, does LA do the deal?
They had no chance of Howard either way, with our without the CP3 deal. Dwight doesn't want to sign an extension with LA anymore. He wants to go to Brooklyn and will get traded for Lopez and picks.
Patterson instead of scola. But then others would have to be added for salary. I think its now safe to say Odem won't be going
Martin now after he shows his disdain towards Morey for "showing his cards." Lowry is the best PG this team as had in years and they don't grow on trees. Martin is great on offense but he is so soft on D. I think Lee can fill in and get a similar +/-.
It should stay the same on our front and Lakers should offer more. We offer the most already for the non star here. So we should stay put and not offer anything more.
The dynamics of the originaly opposed deal leave a whole gang of questions. I would like to know what the "true" proposition was. The Hornets can not send out $18m, and receive $31m back. So how does it play out? A. Gasol to Houston Paul and Scola to Lakers Odom, Martin, Dragic + NYK 1st to Hornets Gasol to Rockets If this were the case the deal is terrible for both the Rockets and the Hornets. If you are the Hornets why wouldnt you just cut LA out and get Scola who is superior to Odom? If you are the Rockets you do not give up a 1st in a very deep draft to a division rival B. Gasol and Okafor to Houston Odom, Martin, Scola, Dragic + NYK 1st to Hornets Paul to Lakers Value wise it is better for the Rockets, but in the big picture you would rather have Nene over Okafor and absorbing Okafors contract ruins that for you. Lakers are still winners. Hornets actually fair well to rid themselves of Okafors contract as well. Why dont we just keep Paul ourselves? Move Lowry for a wing. The cap savings are the same, so you still can sign Nene. Sign Landry on the cheap. Paul/Flynn Lee/Taylor XXX/Budinger/Williams/Parsons Landry/Paterson/Morris Nene/Hill
KBergCBS Ken Berger In resumption of CP3-Lakers talks with Houston, Hornets under directive from NBA to get younger players, quality picks in deal, souces say.
