I don't know if it has been posted but apparently, houston source, rockets want bynum now and LA has to send cash + picks to NO.

I prefer this over Gasol but still rockets get screwed. NO needs to send at least one quality player our way, how about Landy :)

Yep, I don't expect the information on any deal to flow that freely again....

On what basis do you make that claim?

I'm thinking Morey has put a dollar value on Nene's production. And I'm also thinking that this value must be greater than the contract that was allegedly in the works.

Kevin Martin is a veteran. He should know it's not personnel just business. Now that I realize the plan was to add Nene to go alongside Gasol I feel better about the trade, but would still miss Scola. He's my favorite Rocket player.

Hell no!! Not for an injury prone bynum!! Gasol is a way better player for 4 years on contract.

    Oh hell no!

I'd rather have Gasol than Bynum.

Hornets have to make league minimum payroll, and they're already sitting at $42M. Sending out an extra $18M in salary when no free agent wants anything to do with them makes no sense.

Ariza instead of the TE should calm down the league. They want to be sure LA can't turn around and get Howard too. Cutting the TE in half and forcing LA to cough up picks would do the trick.

Exactly, the last thing we need is another injury prone Center

    agree.

    Pau/Scola = very interesting
Pau/Hayes = would have been interesting
Pau/Nene = interesting, but oddly disquieting

    Pau/PatPat?

This is the only reason I would be okay with the trade. Adding Nene and possibly another star to go along with those two would be great for this team.

So let`s say this deal goes through and we sign Nene for 60 Million Dollars - would we even have the cap space next year to sign a high profile free agent?

I hate the deal if it also means, we overpay Nene by 5 million a year. I don`t see us being a contender without a great wingplayer (at least in the mold of Kevin Martin). And I don`t see us having the cap space or assets to obtain one.
