Maybe we give them Lee in stead of Kmart.... He's cheaper and NO was taking back a lot of money!

My hunch says that if we do get this trade processed. That NENE will want to come to H-Town. We would be contenders if this happened. With just enough trade pieces and future picks (dependent on what picks are in this deal) to get that superstar in the next 1-2 years or less.

Of course. Hence, the Rockets offering Scola instead of Patterson.

I'm less concerned about losing the NYK pick ever since the Knicks agreed to terms with Tyson Chandler. I'm convinced that pick will most likely be in the #19-23 range.

For that caliber of pick (even in a deep draft), and with the Rockets not giving up any top young talent (amazingly, none of Budinger, Patterson or Morris were included in the trade), I can live with including the pick.

    let's hope so

I can't see us giving up Martin and Scola for Gasol...we give up way too much even with only those two..Gasol isn't that great and he might be good for another two seasons

Right, so he's trying to take advantage of something that was likely happen to anyway (CP3 to LAL). I'm sure Les was on board with the move, too. Not sure why there is so much outcry about Paul to LAL. It's not pre-ordained that such a move cements them atop the Western Conference for years to come and, as it appears was Morey's motivation, there is always another move to follow to improve our little 2nd market team.

It's not the Rocket's or Hornets fault if they felt like they were receiving good pieces out of the trade and it shouldn't be other owners trade to veto. At this point all owners should have a seat at the table to cry foul when trades emerge that might put them in a weaker position. That's the position this debacle has put everyone in.

Very well said. Maybe they can include Clee as a younger asset and keep Martin... but that would affect our cap tremendously. Unless they can swing another trade to free up space for a Center?

This! No Pat, no Lowry, no Lee. If we have to move Bud or Morris, I could live with it (although begrudgingly)

Hopefully the Nene to the Nets deal isn't done yet.

The only way i see us dealing Patterson... is if we are dumping scola to another team for youth or maybe recieving Emeka? idk tho.

Lets not forget Motiejunas, a.k.a. the Black Luis Scola.

This is actually a huge deal now. League and Stern might face some significant repercussions if this stands as is. I actually hope it doesnt go through so Stern can possibly lose his job over this.

If Morey somehow gets Gasol while only giving up one out of Scola and Martin then I will be ecstatic and praise him.

I think a line-up of Lowry/Martin/Bud/Nene/Gasol puts us right at the top of the West.

I wonder if they work it where lakers have to eat Okafors contract and give a draft pick?
