Paul is 26 and has bad knees. He will be a superstar for maybe 4-5 more years.

    W/o dwight, they are nothing.

Here we go again. From Woj:

"New Orleans, Houston and Lakers are re-engaged in talks to find a new way to complete Chris Paul blockbuster trade, league sources tell Y!"

sounds like the league wants NOLA to get younger talent than a 31 year old Odom and 32 year old Scola.

I think Stern approves it if the Lakers do not get cap releif too.

If we don't send out our pick but the Lakers do, would that be more "fair"?

By fair I mean we get better off and the Lakers have to give up their youth for cap relief.

Please, please, PLEASE tell me that the Lakers will take back Jack's contract plus ship out a couple of picks.

I'd prefer if the Rockets not be the team that has to give up additional assets.

That said, I could envision a deal with Thabeet and Patterson maybe swapped for Scola? (No long term deals, more youth.)

The problem is, I think the Lakers need that trade exception in a potential Howard deal. Otherwise, the deal substantially makes them worse.

Perhaps we could sell the league/Hornets on the potential of one Hasheem Thabeet? ;)

Wexler just said he thought it was still 50/50 on Gasol and Nene

He had a Steve Kerr tape saying he thought litigation was probable

I'd rather they ship out Scola and let PPatt back up Gasol! The Lakers need to give their pick and take on Jack or Ariza's contract. I was fine with the trade until I saw that they gave up a pick also.

Agreed on both. It should be the Lakers giving up more assets, but if push came to shove, I could see Morey agreeing to the latter. Morris and Patterson are more alike than the Rockets admit, so one could be expendable in the right deal.

That must mean the NBA laid out specific terms on what the Hornets could or could not do.
