Classic, lol On a side note, put Carl Landry in this trade, lol. Not that he does anything for us, but I love that guy

Woah there partner, if the Rockets got Lebron, they could contend with the rest of the team as is..... There are cases where one great great player can make that much of a difference, we as Rocket fans should realize that because that is what Dream did here twice. DD

The Lakers without Pau Gasol could not get by the Phoenix Suns in the first round. It is the height, wingspan, length , mobility and talent that makes him special on both ends of the floor. He has the defensive prowess to alter shots unlike Chris Bosh. Adding a two way big man like Pau Gasol or Kevin Garnett (forget Chris Bosh) can work wonders for any team. Similarly, Mark Cuban added Tyson Chandler and Haywood and it worked magic for the Mavs.
With Nene basically out of the picture for us (no way we match the NJ offer) - do you still like the trade for Pau? We would need to get either Jordan or Dalembert at C (likely overpaying them) and would still be far away from being a contender... Nah, I hated the trade before, and now with Nene out of the picture I hate it even more.
I dont mind jordan if we get him but dalembert is pointless... we need will have to work another trade and loose more assets if we dont get nene...he is the only center (aside from gasol) worth the money
How is Nene worth that kind of money? it makes cringe everytime I think about it. This might be a blessing, i can see a lot of people /wrists if we gave Nene that kind of contract.
Exception, meet rule. I'll slightly rephrase... you can have a chance with one transcendent star. But I don't think it's the responsible way to build a team in this era.
@Jim_Eichenhofer Hornets vets I've seen walking into gym: Ariza, Ewing Jr., Jack, Okafor, Chris Paul, Pondexter
its what a big in this nba costs...find a replacement...morey has spent 3 years trying to trade for one...hasnt been able to do it...the market is what the market is.
We can pay some premium for a 7 footer because we have a stock of draft choice contracts filling out the playing time. Pretty serviceable ones. If you want something to look forward to on this crappy day, Marcus Morris may surprise us as a 'get his own shot', big SF. He may have those skills but just wasn't called on to that Kansas. And maybe Motiejunas will be a Gasol II ( free him from Poland)
