Why won't it? They own the team. You think Stern...a lawyer...would block the trade and not be sure that his reasoning would hold up in court?
Apparently we're repackaging the deal with younger talent. Maybe we can keep Kevin Martin then. That would be hilarious
If no trades happen with the rockets now I will be pissed. Stern F***** this up big time. Retire old man!
WojYahooNBA Adrian Wojnarowski Y! Free Agent-Trade Buzz: Nets preparing huge offer for Nene Friday, reports swirling of tampering with Dwight Howard. tinyurl.com/bv5fn6l Thanks david stern.
Artists/production companies don't operate in the NBA. I promise you that a player can't sue his team for refusing to trade him where he wants to go, or even trading him at all. The league operates under a CBA with anti-trust protection. A player is bound by his contract under the terms of the CBA. He can't demand a trade and then sue if he didn't get it, otherwise plenty of players in the draft would do just that.
If the trade goes through later and all free agents that Morey is intending to acquire (presumably Nene and Chandler) are taken, how does that exactly help the Rockets?
We thought the Lebron circus was crazy. Without a doubt THIS is the craziest 1 day of NBA player movement in history.
We can only speculate tho... We don't know all the details or if there are certain ramifications. Like Bill Simmons stated.. they are choosing to go up against chris paul.. who is a stingy guy who was apart of the labor deals to begin with.
This trade isn't going through if Nene goes to the Nets. I see us changing our attention to the Magic and offering a similar package obviously a little more and taking on more salary.
Marc Gasol is a pipe dream. I assume if we acquire Pau, we are in win now mode and Jordan is not good enough.
There is no speculation involved in whether under normal circumstances a player can sue his team to demand a trade. It absolutely 100% cannot happen. I already said there is the possibility of an exception here depending on the terms of the deal that allowed the NBA to take over the Hornets.
we will see... sources did say the civil law suit could still take place... me, you, and nobody knows the EXACT info. Unless your some sort of undercover NBA guy...
Yeah at this point I hope we are doing a full court press on Orlando, offering them what it takes to get Howard; especially because we now know that Houston is one of Howard's desired destinations. Let NJ overpay Nene.
Maybe I'm crazy but this would fall under collusion. Also considering the way he handled the lockout, yes I think he may have made an incredibly rash decision.
I think sometimes lawyers think they are smarter than they really are and get screwed because they think they know how things will work out, but when a jury is involved, anything can happen. DD
