This "tampering" accusation sounds like strong arming to get Morey to drop the Paul trade.

The Commish just doing what he do.

EXACTLY! On the Money! This isn't about if we (fans, writers, etc) thought this trade was "worth it" or not. It's simple matter of principle that's been broken here.

More likely, if tampering charges are true, I'm thinking the Rockets maybe were involved in trying to get Howard to NJ and prevent him from signing with the Lakers to join Chris Paul.

I'm not saying I want DM gone. I don't believe he farts flowers, though. To even question a move here is to get labelled a hater. Half the board is ready to provide that man fellatio at any point.

    Thanks!

"You have two front office executives that are thinking about quitting today - Dell Demps and Daryl Morey. Both of those guys are thinking about quitting right now because they spent 3 weeks working on this trade that fell through via veto that they didn't even know the league would think about vetoing this. I just think this is a catastrophe."

Today was supposed to be such a glorious day. Training camp was starting. Free Agency was starting. I had the day off. Everything was great...

Then BAM... trade gets vetoed. Morey's ready to quit. And now this?

I don't think this day could get worse, honestly.

The Rockets should quit. They can just join the Chinese league to play against JR Smith and Kenyon Martin. Many fans there!

That's brilliant. At least Houston thinks outside of the box. There are other ways to improve the team other than the team itself.

Unless that trade gets overturned, no. This is a bad day to be a rocket. Team chemistry is probably shaky at best, fa plan is screwed up, and now gm is so pissed that he wants to quit.

you guys are blowing this out of proportion. morey would have quit already if he seriously desired so. simmons was pretty much referring to how the GM's felt the minute the trade was nixed.

    Morey isnt leaving.

I still don't see how you can argue against what he's done here. What do you want him to do? Nobody is giving us good draft picks for Martin and Scola. You can't fault a GM for not tanking -- especially when the philosophy of staying competitive is being pushed by the owner.

He's gotten us good players at reasonable contracts. He's made a couple of bad moves but nothing like CD made. His only fault is that he hasn't been able to recruit a star here, and given the state of the NBA we can't blame him for that.

He's not perfect but I don't know who could have done much better in these circumstances. If you want to blame someone, blame Les. Because I think if given the option Morey might have given up on yao earlier, not re-signed Scola, and pushed for a rebuild.

Just finished making an iPad presentation on why Morey should stay with us. Who's coming with me to pitch this?

A red herring to try and divert attention from his trade-meddling yesterday. That guy has too much power. This action definitely lends more support to the theory that games are rigged by NBA officiating. This guy is like a real-life Darth Vader.

Since Orl is calling "foul" with Net's owner and GM meeting with Howard, I'm pretty certain Morey and Kevin didn't have time to meet with Dwight with all their travels going on.

That pic of McHale in Denver might be key evidence against a lawsuit

I wouldn't blame Morey if he DID quit. This isn't about three weeks working on a trade. Morey has spent three years desperately trying to put together a deal to obtain himself a true star player to replace Yao Ming. He moved up from good, above average players like Aaron Brooks and Carl Landry to borderline stars like Kevin Martin and Luis Scola.

And finally, after dozens of transactions, countless hours spent in blood sweat and tears, he finally makes a big deal to get himself a legitimate star, one of the top 15 players in the NBA, and Stern turns around and vetoes the trade.

He's got to be sitting there thinking to himself, "I may never get the opportunity to grab a star player again. Screw this job."
