NO's GM is the one pissed about the deal not going down. As for the rest, no way it makes their fans want to see them THIS year if CP3 had left for LA. The NBA doesn't want to be stuck with a team that they couldn't sell and this trade would have rendered NO unsellable. They want local ownership for the Hornets - well good luck with that one.

I still see this as the beginning of the NBA's attempt to deal with the fact that the majority of their players only want to play for 5 teams and should that be allowed to continue, the NBA's viability as a competitive league will be destroyed.

The trade frees up enough money to sign Nene and Chuck Hayes back. IT gives you easily the best bigman combo in the league Gasol/Nene/Patterson/Hayes

My thoughts exactly on Nene yet everyone around was posting as if it was a virtual certainty that Nene would be a Rocket simply because they had the cap room to pay him. Every time I saw the phrase "If the Rockets get Nene" it reminded me of another saying on the board: "If Yao Ming is healthy".

Nene and Gasol wouldn't be playing for the Hornets had the trade gone down so please explain why folks in NO would have loved to watch them play in a Rockets uniform.

An appeal might work. This was a good trade for all the parties involved.

Nene + Scola doesn't sound so bad. And we'd still have Kevin Martin to dump.

This deal will go through, Stern has a massive conflict of interest.

    You saying no to Gasol?

This guy is the 2nd best PF in the NBA after Dirk, and you aren't satisfied with that?

If you can get Gasol for Martin+Scola+Dragic, you do it and run.

By committing a crime? If this goes to court, theres already strong evidence of collusion (Dan Gilbert's letter).

Since when did Nene become the second coming?

I like Nene but it might be a good thing that we aren't going to give him the $13M/yr+ that he wants. He isn't worth that much.

So you would rather have Hayes starting at C again for the full MLE.

Big men cost money. Lots of it.

I totally understand Morey's approach in regard to its do or die.

Go big or go home I don't know how much he can keep going on treating his players like that. Basketball isn't all business this isn't 2k, even 2k has morale going up and down affecting players performance.

First I dont understand how Morey went for Gasol instead of Bynum even with his knees his potential is worth, though I don't how much its worth if we make the Lakers better. Although even if they got Paul I wouldn't be too afraid of them, that doesn't put them as locks fav to win the conference let alone the finals.

Second I completely understand if the league refused the trade who trades their best player in the last decade for 3 players aged 28,30,32 and commit 71 mil for borderline all stars, and a 1st round pick not in the lottery.

Don't how idiot so called experts (i.e.Matt harping) think this trade is good for NO, there's a reason these guys are doing TV and nobody has them hired in a front office

Trade still dead? If so, I don't see the Rockets trying to revive it, not after they hear how many fans hate the deal. Generally, it's not smart to piss off 2/3 of your customers.

Don't think they care. Never did before. Remember Aaron Brooks draft?
