Not really happening unless Orlando accepts the horrible package from us. Why would they want Lowry and some low picks when they already stuck with Arenas and Nelson. NJ offers them a way sweeter deal with Lopez and two first rounders

    /shrug

Up until this point, I have always had a plan, a preference of how we could get back into competitiveness.

Now I don't know what the &%$# is going on, or what we should do. The Gasol thing caught me completely by surprise, even before all this other BS.

    And so where they...

But Gasol is 10x better than Randolph.

Lowry is superior to Conley as well.

Dude, buck up man. Scola didn't even bat an eye while everyone else was panicking and Kardashian was sobbing on Stephen A. Smith's shoulder. Pretty sure he's gonna be alright.

And Martin came from Western Carolina. Dude may be skinny as hell, but he's got a thick skin. And given the way he just walked away from his underwater mortgage, I'm pretty sure he's all business. These guys are pros.

except gasol is not 10x better than Randolf based on last year's performance, randolf's tough gasol's not

I was just playing along with Carl. I highly doubt something like that is going to happen.

Anyway, by trading Dragic & Motiejunas to the Hornets for draft picks, you would create about as much cap room as you would have done in the Gasol trade and therefore have enough money to sign Nene and bring back Chuck.

I'm not sure on this (people usually don't re-acquire draft rights), but I think you may be able to re-acquire draft rights, unlike players, without having to wait the usual year/45/90 days or whatever it is.
So you would bascially do a temporary trade to create the necessary cap room to sign Nene & Hayes and then re-acquire Motiejunas for the picks you received for him whenever you'd be able to pull of the rest of the original trade that got blocked today.

you cant base it off in one playoffs performance. -_-

    career-wise, gasol is definitely better.

I mentioned this in the other thread.

scola and okafor to indy, cp3 to houston, hibbert, jordan hill, and lowry to the hornets. the picks and filler can be worked out, but i think the money works out evenly. If paul bolts, the rockets start over, but the team would still have enough to make a run at howard at seasons end.

What's the point of getting CP3 if he won't even re-sign with us?

I bet he wouldn't even show up to camp.

Ive been watching the nba since about 78 and i cant recall a guy not showing up when he was under contract. Cp3 loved baketball too much not to show up and play.

He's not showing up to camp tomorrow according to CBSSports

Neither is Odom for that matter.

Well, one thing we do know is that if we get CP and he wants to leave at the end of the season, we can at least flip him for Gasol+Odom.

Why would Indy trade Hibbert for Okafor? They wouldn't.

Paul is just being a little b****.

He wants his cake, so he can eat it too.

If he walks in free agency, his paycheck is cut by tens of millions of dollars.

He wants to be traded so he can resign with his bird rights and get the extra money.

The NBA is so broken now, its ridiculous. This is becoming a joke of a league.

They've been hot and cold on Hibbert. his inconsitent play is what they're having problems with. Personally, I like hibbert and i hink he is a skilled big guy, but okafor is more consistent. Add to the fact hibbert is in his last year places him on the block.

Another reason why I don't want CP3 in Houston.

He will be checked out and effect team chemistry negatively.

At least with Pau, we got him locked up for 3 more years.

I was initially pissed by this trade but only before I found out we had another deal in place to sign Nene and use the rest to re-sign Chuck.

TBH, I would rather have Lowry right now than CPKnee.

Posted this in trade thread ... your thoughts ... only works if Deron wants to test FA but i think he does

    http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7tw5sfs

we give up less and get gasol + maybe lakers give us a pick / NJ gives us our pick back for dragic

LA does it because its either give up LO + PG + picks or wait till summer and who knows if paul gets traded elsewhere or picks NY over LA ...

NJ gets fabulous haul for deron makes the team a really good team

    dragic/farmar
    martin/
    Odom/
    Scola/Hump
    Lopez

they still could trade for D - howard but even without him will make the playoffs and do O.K

Again this is only if Deron wants to test FA ( which i think he does )
