i dont have twitter but can someone please remind TWill that he is going into training camp by bashing his teamates.... - does he even know how to run a pick and role?
Feigan said that with this deal likely to fall through, we won't be able to sign Nene or re-sign Hayes. SMH.
Thank you owners, NBA or whoever, for not letting this deal go through. I used to support Morey in everything he did but this new Morey has me very worried. He knows we need at least one superstar to have a chance and his plan is to bring Gasol and Nene? Where in the world are they mentioned when talking about NBA superstars? Not to mention the horrendous contract of Gasol. Almost 20 mill a year for the next three years. By far one of the highest paid player in all the NBA. If this had gone through there would be no hope for us but spend the next few years watching the team being swept every time in the first round of playoffs. As it stands, we still are going to get swept, if we make the playoffs, but at least there is still hope of landing a true superstar through a better deal or at least a potential superstar in the upcoming draft. I hope this trade never gets revisited. If I didn't know any better I would believe Morey was trying to help the Lakers with their title chances without caring what happened to the Rockets in the process.
No that means that if the Gasol trade happened, we would have a better shot at getting Nene and re-signing Hayes. Our pitch to Nene was that he could play PF next to Gasol and he would have wanted that. Now without Pau, Nene doesn't want to go to Houston.
chadfordinsider Chad Ford RT @netw3rk: Tonight the NBA avoided an iceberg by intentionally crashing into a larger iceberg.
Yep, with Hayes backing up Gasol and Patterson backing up Nene. Now, we get stuck with Thabeet and maybe Dalembert with Hayes going to the Kings.
Haha I'm glad I live in Europe and just woke up smiling I hope Martin & Scola will not turn on us now.... No Gasol and no Nene - a win win in my book, I don't like either player.
It pisses me off too. So many people on this board thinking Morey was getting raped in this deal, but this was his big picture. Turning Martin, Dragic, Scola, and a likely late 1st round pick into Gasol and Nene, while possibly resigning Chuck or using him in a sign and trade.
Tell me about. We finally pry away a legit center and Stern steps in to screw it up. Sports Gods, what did we do to deserve this?
It looks like Dan Gilbert was one of the owners crying about the trade. Not because of Chris Paul being in L.A. but because the Lakers would save a bunch of money in luxury tax which means his team wouldn't get as much money. Woa is me, I'm just a poor owner that needs the other rich owners to spread the wealth. If this e-mail is true it looks like the owners have as many issues with each other as they did with the players. Tried to insert the link, but it's giving me fits.

Since the proposed trade was mutually beneficial for all three teams, the rescission is mutually damaging as well with the Hornets suffering the most. Gasol would have been the perfect mentor for Thabeet as well. All this because David Stern didn't have the decency or propriety to inhibit himself from the free agency market. Imagine you were DM spending sleepless nights working on this trade and Stern sleeps soundly at night whistling a happy tune.
