Daryl Morey, GM, the guy who is hired to make this team better, you know all his plans for free agency? Well throw a wrench into that! And on the day before free agency starts! The Rockets and their plans, screwed over by the NBA. Who knows what else they had planned? Maybe something BIG! Who knows? Doesn't matter now. It's gone and we're stuck in the fallout.

They didn't just screw Morey's plans up... they bent his plans over the counter and went to town on them.

His hands are tied now. Unless they can find a way to get this trade back on before 2 pm eastern tomorrow... the Rockets are most likely going to end up with just Dalembert.

As long as the Lakers don't form another dynasty.

The trade increased their chance of winning more rings by 20% and any increase in their chances causes a decrease with our chances. **** the Lakers.

It was down to us and Denver.

Us getting Gasol increased our chances of Nene dramatically.

Codman, who know's Nene's family said it was down to us and Denver.

    Very true

But that's where the trust in Morey comes in. This trade had been talked about for a while between the teams, and I imagine Morey wouldn't have pulled the trigger unless he knew there was a second piece (We all say Nene, but it could have been any Center) was falling right into place tomorrow.

    Now we'll never know.

Im expressing ambivalence towards all this. In a way I wanted this trade to go through because who knows what else Morey had planned, plus we were getting an All Star caliber player. On the downside, we were trading what I believe significant pieces from our team.

Now, who knows what in the world is going to happen.

We may end up with a very pissed Scola and Martin and possibly have to start Thabeet at center.

No way Nene comes now and we waited to long to try to re-sign Chuck.

For all we know, he's already made up his mind after this fallout.

Agreed. This trade would have worked out for everyone. I really think after the trade for gasol we would have acquired a center via FA

This isn't about what you felt about the trade itself. If you agreed or disagreed with it, that can be discussed in another thread. This is about the NBA ****ing over the Rockets organization! Destroying our team's planning, leaving it in shambles, right before free agency.

the thing is... they didn't just mess with the Rockets... all three teams are screwed now

To be honest... this was one of the most balanced star trades I've ever seen... and Stern killed it because Paul WANTED to go to LA

What if DM was going after a Gasol-Gasol front court, and was planning on offering Marc a large contract? Maybe?

A letter to the Houston Rockets from the NBA<HR>
Dear Houston Rockets, remember your team chemistry? Well that's gone now. All your brilliant GM's plans for free agency? Forget that too.

    Sincerely,
    The NBA

    ps. **** you
